We booked Polrudden for 6 nights as a base to explore Orkney and paid 60GBP per room per night B&B. Having spent honeymoon in London and Paris we were looking for something or somewhere different to finish it off and this was perfect. We left Inverness at 0700hrs and travelled to John O'Groats by bus, then took the passenger ferry over to Orkney then on to Kirkwall through some spectacular scenery. I stayed at Polrudden for three nights in April and it was a great experience. The location is excellent, a short walk from the city centre, but away from any noise. Very peaceful grounds and pleasant garden. To greet you outside (along with Linda) was a very sweet cream retriever and an equally sweet black kitty! A plus for any... more
