We arrived late on the Tuesday evening and were delighted with our rooms. We were visiting Orkney to walk on the remote islands of Sanday and Pappa Westray in our quest to eventually walk on all of Scotland's inhabited islands. We have now managed to do 46 Islands. A really nice place to stay: large rooms, bathrooms and great breakfast! It's just a little bit far from downtown (close to the airport) so it's easier if you have a car. There's plenty of books and guides about Orkney available to read for the guests. Julie and Mike are really nice and will make their best to help you... More

We stayed in Straigona for 3 nights; in their Inganess room. The room is nicely decorated, the bathroom is spacious with a sky window and the view over Orkney from the room is beautiful. Everything about our stay at Straigona was great. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a great view. The location was excellent for sightseeing (provided you have a car). myself and my daughter really enjoyed our stay at the straigona and would recomend it to anyone visiting orkney. breakfast was delicious with a fantastic choice..room was so comfortable and spacious (inganess) also included tea and coffee with choccy biscuits . a 5 minute drive into kirkwall made it a perfect location for us. just google stragona and give julie...
