Check in was friendly and efficient. I had one of the rooms at the front of the hotel in the new wing with a view over the sea. Despite facing on to the road traffic noise was not a problem. Had a great stay at the Ayre Hotel on holiday. The hotel was busy with locals too which is always a good sign! The rooms in the new annex are a bit pricey but well worth it; we stayed there twice during our Orkney trip and both times were delighted with the service and welcome, as well as the spotless noes rooms, which are designed but not over designed. Restaurant looked less fun. More
