The Ayre hotel is easily found on the A965 from Stromness to Kirkwall and overlooks the Bay of Kirkwall. It’s a short walk into town and a good base for touring the island. Wifi in all rooms. Good TV and choice of channels. Place recently refurbished and spotless. Good breakfast. Check out not until 1000, but noisy cleaners start hoovering and banging outside the door from 0800 onwards. Apart from that - it would have been perfect.

Went to Orkney on business, found it to be a very nice hotel. Recently re-decorated. Good food, very friendly staff. Close to the harbour, sea front & Pickaquoy leisure complex. not much else to say really.

Immaculately clean, wonderful staff, friendly, excellent food. I cannot fault it. Some rooms bigger than others, new annexe which is separate from main hotel really nice, but all in all excellent value for money.

Beautiful hotel, with very friendly staff. Would highly recommend. Very high level of cleanliness. Menu is very nice also. If there were ten starts then you get every last twinkly one. Three cheers for the Aye hotel.

Stayed at this hotel during a work trip. The staff are fabulous so so accommodating and nice. A lovely welcome on arrival. The rooms are so comfy, spacious and homely. The food is delicious. Breakfast was also tasty.
