Booked this inn by chance for a Tuesday overnight stay while visiting an ill relative. Arrived on a cold night at this very attractive pub and was made very welcome and shown personally to my very warm room with a spacious ensuite. Evening meals are served till 10 so late arrival not a problem. Good menu choices, not the cheapest... More

Really did call in by chance. Having a drive in the area and saw a sign for the pub. Had lunch and it was good to see many of the choices had smaller plates available instead of a full size meal. We both really enjoyed it. Food and service was excellent. It really is in the middle of nowhere, but... More

Gorgeous little pub in the middle of nowhere, we had lunch & breakfast which were both superb. We stayed over which was nice, the view of the open farmland was beautiful, the room was average, bed very small, but then so was the room! Hasn't put me off going back, we loved it!

A fantastic local pub and what every local should be. The food is excellent and there is a great range, some of the specialities were the mini steak pie and the cockles. BUT the real gem here is the beers on tap and we were lucky enough to enjoy 4 fantastic Weetwood ale pints! All the pints were 5 star!

We stayed here for a family event in January 2015, having booked it blind off TripAdvisor. We ranged in age from late 60s to early 40s and all agreed that it was a wonderful pub. The staff were excellent, the beer was superb, the food was just right and the ambience in the bar (with log fires etc) was just... More

We went for a walk on a beautiful, crisp winter's day. Got to pub about 2.30 and it was still busy. Great range of beer and would recommend the Timothy Taylor. We all variations on Sunday roast and it was great food and good value. Starters were also a treat. Highly recommend.

We took my mother in law, three children for my husbands birthday. Arrived early and was shown a lovely round table next to a cosy fire. Food was good and the children's menu for 1 was perfect.certainly empty plates by all. Friendly staff and very helpful. Worth travelling to. 30 minutes for us from home. We will definitely be back.... More

Stayed for a wedding down the road at Colshaw Hall (excellent), welcome greeting in the busy bar. Room comfortable, lovely view at the front on inn. The breakfast was one of the best we have had, even compared to five star establishments, pleasantly served, homely environment. The food was excellent quality and we will return to eat during the day,... More

What a fantastic pub and B&B. Such a comfortable and relaxing stay. The staff and breakfast are amazing!!! Do not miss the breakfast!!! We stayed for a family wedding in a location not far away and it was perfect in every way! Can't wait to return and would recommend this village gem in rural Cheshire!! Keep up the good work!!

I'm going to start by saying The Dog Inn is a real gem! I've visited the dog on three occasions over the past year and it never fails to put a smile on my face. The atmosphere is really very welcoming, the staff and management team are exceptional. The service is very attentive but not hounding and I like that!... More
