As a family we booked two cottages. Both were really lovely, cosy and just what we needed. All necessary kitchen equipment and good laundry room too. The children loved the games room. Bedrooms were spacious and plenty of cupboard space in the accommodation. Plenty of activities (if time permitted) like quad biking or fishing. Planning to go again soon .... More

Very peaceful location, with some great woodland and river walks. Nice little cottage, very comfortable with all we needed, including all the makings for a real fire each night. It's a bit of a way off the main road but that adds to the tranquility.

We took advantage of a special offer to stay in this fabulous 5 bedroom, recently refurbished Farmhouse on the estate. It is very spacious and offers the highest level of comfort and style, with log burners, central heating and a traditional Aga in the well stocked kitchen. The house is very warm and cosy despite the size. The king size... More

What a fabulous courtyard cottage retreat in the heart of Dumfries. Lured by the Ladies Salmon Fishing School I was not disappointed and learnt a huge amount about fishing for salmon on the beautiful river Annan at Kirkwood. I was given a warm welcome by the other ladies particpating on the course, the food was fabulous, the host inspiring and... More

We took 3 teenagers and a 9 year old for a peaceful break in the half term. The journey from London took about 6 hours but it was well worth it and we will definitely visit again. The cottages were well furnished and we were all made very welcome by the owners. The location is stunning and we really enjoyed... More

Great base and setting to explore the vast open space, both local and surrounding areas, whether that be walking, fishing, biking or running. Good promixty to the Lake District and Scottish cities : Edinburgh and Glasgow. Extremley friendly and helpful hosts made the trip truly enjoyable and relaxing. I left Kirkwood after a week feeling absolutely relaxed, and that's with 2 children amoungst our group. The cottage is situated in a very peaceful location, you are surrounded by beautiful scenic views. However nearby villages and towns aren't too far away should you require a pub or a supermarket. You can opt to do as much or as little... More
