Conveniently situated for a birdwatching trip to the Solway Coast. Very comfortable room and bed with feather duvet and cotton bedding. Pleasingly decorated and furnished, fresh flowers a lovely touch. Excellent food cooked to order from a short but well chosen menu, featuring seasonal food from local suppliers. Run by husband and wife team, who couldn't be more helpful and... More

Stayed at Hightae Inn on a business trip. Mark and Morag are fantastic hosts and made me very welcome. Room was lovely and made to very high standard. Great for working as Hightae Inn has full wifi. As I stay away a lot with work it was great to stay in a non corporate hotel with nice people and food.... More

Whilst staying in Dalton, I nipped in for a pint as a premise to take my wife for dinner sometime over the weekend. It was nicely busy and there were plenty eating when I entered. The main man Mark seemed a great landlord and appeared quite a character with plenty of witty banter that he gave to his guests. Two... More

We were lucky enough to have a short stay in Hightae with a family friend. We visited The Hightae Inn on several occasions for refreshments and were always met with a friendly welcome by Mark and Morag. Their knowledge of the area and willingness to share their stories and experiences was refreshing and what you hope to expect in such... More

We stayed here in October for a wedding weekend and we could not have asked for a more accommodating stay. Mark and Morag could not have done anymore, from helping us with transport to and from the wedding to an excellent breakfast. Its the small things go a long way (Looking after us after a heavy night!!) and would definitely... More

We stayed at Hightae on the first night of an eight-day trip to East Fife and Northumberland, and what we had expected just to be a routine stopover proved instead to be one of the highlights. Mark and Morag have succeeded in turning a quiet inn in a quiet village into a an establishment of class and good taste that... More
