The service is superb. The location is fine, if you happen to be visiting the university. But the decor is a throwback to the 1950s. The rooms are clean, neat and a little bit boring. The main problem is a guest house ethos. Checkout time is 10. The room furnishings are very basic, plain bordering on ugly. And there are... More

Not for romantic weekends away, but pretty much perfect as a conference centre and business hotel, with excellent facilities including well-appointed meeting rooms, cafes, restaurant, pool and gym. Service is efficient but also friendly and the setting in Loughborough University campus lends a feel-good atmosphere. Good bus service ( with WiFi) from the train station.

Staff were extremely hepful and friendly and the staff in the restaurant were most accommodating as we had a large party of 16 people celebrating my daughter's graduation. We organised champagne in the bar before dinner which worked perfectly and the food was very good, apart from a child's meal which they forgot and arrived after most of us had... More

A very comfortable hotel with good disabled access for wheelchair users. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the staff are helpful and friendly. My only criticism is that there is no air conditioning although a small fan was provided in the room.

Despite having a fan on all night and the window wide open, the heat in the room made it impossible to sleep. I had just returned from a week in Avignon in 40 degrees and it was easier to sleep there. The answer, unsurprisingly, is air conditioning. I was told that the hotel is 'considering' this when it refurbishes the... More

Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Unfortunately accommodation is over rated as being described 'Executive' room. It was hot due to lack of air conditioning, which a small table fan cannot alleviate. It was not particularly clean with cobwebs apparent on the light fittings. The bathroom door looked as though it had been shortened with a hacksaw as the bottom... More

My wife and I stayed here twice recently. We only had breakfast and the food is good and plentiful. Plenty of staff, some of whom are very attentive. However, the crockery needs to be checked after washing and before it is put out as I found a number of dirty plates and cups. The rooms are adequate but lack 3... More

Brilliant Location. Lovely staff. That's about all I can rate good. The food was ridiculously priced, especially for what you get. After about 20 minutes of sorting food out due to my intolerances, I received steak, potatoes and salad, asked for medium steak, was well done and dry. Potatoes were cold. Dirty plate. Far too much pepper too. (However, they... More

I stayed at this hotel for about 1.5 weeks whilst attending conference. The stay was generally pleasant and the facilities pretty good. The room was well equipped though it had a bit of a hospital feel. The glaring omission from the room is airconditioning. I stayed at a time when the temperature was hovering around 35 degrees celcius. During this... More
