Just returned from an overnight stay at Charnwood Lodge as we were attending a wedding nearby. Very pleasant b&b. Comfortable and clean rooms, friendly owners and great breakfast - even accommodating dietary requirements. Good location - near enough to walk into town but far away enough to be peaceful. Thanks very much Charnwood!

Very comfortable and pleasant stay. Flexible with booking arrangements. Close access to Great Central Railway and city centre. Mushrooms with the full English would've been great.

Dear ajwiggins, Many thanks for taking the time to place a review on the Lodge. We have many guests stay with us that visit the Steam Railway and all have excellent comments on the Railway. We used to serve mushrooms with our breakfasts, but found people werent wanting them. I have now decided to put them back on the menu....

This is the second time we visited Charnwood Lodge and the room was even better as we had been upgraded by the hotelier to a lovely 4 poster bed. The room was clean and spacious. Sadly we could only stay for one night but on arrival after finding the place easily (great being on the main road) we were pleased to see a decent sized car park and some nice well tended gardens. The manager greeted us with a friendly smile, offered information about the guest house and then politely showed us to our room....
