We have now visited the Carlton Manor Carvery several times and each time it has got a little better to the point where tonight I would rate it excellent. There are other meals available but at £6.50 for a main course carver with Lamb, Beef, Pork and Gammon as the meat choices. Vegetables were Red Cabbage, Sweetcorn, peas, swede and... More

I spent a number of nights staying at the Carlton Manor whilst away on business. The rooms were clean , tidy and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, I spend three to four nights away most weeks so this is a key thing for me! The food was lovely , well cooked with fresh ingredients , and too be honest... More

Stayed here one night on business trip. A real unusual experience indeed. On the web it stated all but two rooms were booked up, yet on arrival it seemed not to be the case which was a bit odd to say the least. I had not pre booked a meal in the restaurant but as it happens there was no... More

This was our second visit in twelve months. Chose to dine in the bar. Quite a good selection to choose from but sadly lacked lustre. Spinach accompanying my Monkfish was extremely salty to the point of being indelible. Monkfish was "ok" not pure white as often experienced in other restaurants Our guests said their meals were also average. This was... More

Our reason was to have a quiet couple of days away within easy reach of Southwold etc. The room was big, bed comfy, well furnished etc...cannot complain as we were in one of the "new" rooms apparently. First night was a Friday - no probs at all (except for the heat...there is an air con unit on the wall but... More

Lovely hotel, exceptional welcome from the receptionists on each day, and the night porter. Breakfast was amazing. The pancakes were fantastic. We had only one fault and that was the bed was tiny. We asked to move to a room with a larger bed but unfortunately for us the hotel was full due to a wedding. Overall though our experience... More

We only had one night. we had room 1, it was quiet, very clean . The bathroom was loverly. You know your car is safe in the car park. We know the area very well, so it was the perfect choice for us.The young lady on reception was very polite. I would have like a bathmat in the bath. cannot... More

Although the room is large and the bathroom excellent, the furniture is cheap flat-pack pretending to be something grand. Despite a high room rate, you are asked to pay heavily for a cooked breakfast; the coffee was vile; an "assortment of croissants" took 45 minutes to arrive and were cold in the middle when they did. Otherwise being surrounded by... More

Lovely carvery lunch. £9 each and well worth it. Lovely settings, bar area still looks a little bit used since it's refit but other than that clean and tidy. Parking very good and front surroundings lovely. Staff very pleasant. Didn't have dessert but plenty on offer.

We stayed for 1 night before heading to a wedding a few miles down the road. The room we had was in the extension, it was stunning, very quiet, and a very good size. It was immaculately clean, and nicely decorated. We went across to the bar, and had a few drinks, before heading for dinner in the restaurant. We... More
