The contact with the hotel was good and helpful - via phone and email. Arrived on the day, parking was no problem as there are plenty of spaces (important when two of your party are in their eighties). We received a warm welcome from the manager and staff, coats were taken, then to our table (with the options of drinks... More

A comfortable and friendly hotel. The new bar is a welcome addition and provides a more relaxed option for an evening meal. The atmospheric Crooked Barn restaurant was a great place to eat as always but the food there was slightly disappointing - possibly due to the number of large groups having Christmas meals. Highly recommended.

Attended a Christmas party night as we love this venue, the staff a fantastic, attentive and always willing to go the extra mile. Disappointing as only a couple of parties in and generally lacked the traditional Christmas party atmosphere For the cost i would have expected to see coffee included rather than an extra cost. Chocolates were delicious ! The... More

We felt so welcomed table booked for meal set up unexpectedly and pleasantly and above expectations - three course meal highly recommended. Waitress Louise, efficient, friendly and sense of humour - just a great dining experience in lovely surroundings - especially decorated for Christmas.

Spent one night here while visiting the area. Unusual approach to the hotel - we arrived in the dark and you feel like you are about to end up in a farmer's field when suddenly there is the hotel. The check in was very friendly and efficient, receptionist kindly booked a taxi to take us out in the evening. She... More

This accommodation is in a beautiful natural area in Lowestoft. It feels like it is family owned, the staff was very friendly. The rooms are separate from the reception building. Room was very well heated, spacious and well equipped. It had a nice snack and tea and coffee making facilities as well as anything else one could need during their... More

As we got close to Ivy House, I was a little put off by the long dark private driveway which had no lighting and a lot of potholes, now puddles due to the rainfall we have had recently. The car park upon arrival didn't have a lot of lighting either which I think is much needed for guests arriving in... More

We have stayed here a number of times over the years and think that the fairly recent alterations were much needed and have improved the hotel considerably. But, and it's a big but, the prices have gone up and nice spot that it is, we will be looking elsewhere on our next visit. On all our visits, we have upgraded... More

Unfortunately we only had time for a brief visit and not at a time when we could take in a full meal; thankfully we did have time to take in afternoon tea in the conservatory. The surroundings are elegant, modern and well thought out and the grounds natural and peaceful. Thanks to the young bar tender (Paul) that served us... More
