We recently held the wake following my mother's funeral at Parkhill Hotel. The staff were very helpful and the buffet which was laid on was excellent. The public rooms are very comfortable with log fires. Some of the mourners stayed overnight at the hotel and were full of praise for the standard of the rooms and the quality of the... More

Stayed one night B&B - hotel clean and tidy - bed very comfortable - staff pleasant - breakfast very good. Ideal spot for a visit to Lowestoft. Few bits could be improved such as the toilet seat in the en-suite bathroom (room 4)! But no complaints at all. Will use again - much cheaper than the Premier Inn :)

My experience was very mixed.Room 12,twin room with en-suite shower. The room was large acceptably clean as were the comfortable beds. However the ensuite shower room was very poor.It was grubby, cramped and in need of a thorough overhaul. The public areas of the main house were also rather tired and in need of proper decorating rather than just another coat over the wood... My husband and I had our wedding reception here at the end of August and we really could not fault it! We had exclusive hire of the whole place and our guests booked out all of the hotel rooms. We had booked Parkhill as our reception venue two and a half years before the wedding day and from day one... More

I can not rate this family run hotel/wedding venue high enough! We got married at a local church then had our reception at parkhill. Started with corona and pimms on the wonderful lawns in beautiful grounds! We then had a 3 course meal in the barn with loads of choices, everyone accomodated to there tastes! The evening reception was brilliant... More

Reading some of these reviews I felt I had to put our perspective. We have 2 dogs who are welcomed into this hotel and accompanied us into the bar and bedroom. The room was what I would call comfy and we had no worries with our 4 legged friends there. The owners are obviously dog lovers having 2 of their... More

We spent 5 days at Parkhill, using it as a base to explore Norfolk and Suffolk. Our room (in the main house) was enormous, with two large beds and a little sitting room, which was perfect for reading and planning our day. A cot could have easily been set up in the sitting room, so great for families too. The... More

We stayed in this hotel for two nights whilst attending a wedding in the marquee. As previous reviewers have stated, the grounds and actual building are beautiful, but what a disappointment the interiors are! We had a room in the stable block, on opening the door your could smell the dust in the air, carpets and curtains had not been... More

i too visited the hotel prior to my sons wedding this last saturday. Yes the marquee looked very tired and the chairs yuk. But on the day, what a transformation! I beleive it is standard to hire in chair covers, theirs were white with lovely red bows on. You dress the tables yourselves and our bride and her family did... More

Recently checked the marquee and barn out as possible wedding venue for son and fiancée. The marquee smelled very damp and musty, the drapes looked very grubby with mildew evident. The chairs were old and badly worn and required (at extra cost) covers. There hadn't been a function in there for a few days and was untidy and grubby. The... More
