This was a sentimental visit to Lowestoft to recall childhood memories which included the Hatfield Hotel. On arrival we were worried about the appearance of the Hotel and the run down area behind it. Rooms were also on the basic side (although clean) and the view from our room turned out not to be of the sea but of KFC!... More

We had a lovey lunch two days running, the first day we went for burgers which were good quality and had the best chips we have ever eaten. On the second day we had club sandwiches which were triple decked and full of chicken, accompanied by a portion of the chips of course. Also had a cream tea which was... More

My wife and I were looking for a seafront hotel for an overnight stay in Lowestoft and booked the Hatfield as it looked like pretty good value. However, we were somewhat disappointed by the time we left. Although we had a good sea view, the room was quite dated and basic - much of the furniture looked a bit worn,... More

Ive stayed at the hatfield many a time, but this time i feel i need to say something! We had a room (no203) overlooked the sea, this was brilliant, nice big room, but the bed must have been the smallest double ive ever known. If the room was small then maybe i could understand it. Get some bigger beds in.... More

Receptionist Anna was very welcoming and friendly, room okay but sea view spoilt by window seal gone and condensation ,bathroom good ,needs blind in window for night time. Very comfortable bed, Good Breakfast and all meals very good. Restaurant and Bar staff very good especially Mark ,but all were very friendly and polite and helpful ,will definitely return

As locals we so want this place to do well, the investment in the terrace lends it a spectacular view, and a very nice vibe. We have always enjoyed out days and evenings here, but the food is not up to the expectations you have when you walk in. It would be fine with the old hotel, but I suppose... More

We stayed here on a rainy September day. The staff are exceptionally friendly. The room was reasonable and clean. The best thing about this hotel is their ground floor bar and restaurant. The food was great and so eye the see views. It's a nice place to sit with a drink, spot boats in the see and watch the sunset.

Had a superb lunch with majestic views of The North Sea. Quality of food and speed of service was very good. Tables were regularly cleaned. Plenty of tables for dinners to eat at. Prices for drinks and food were acceptable

Have not stopped at this Hotel for a good few years mainly due to it being poor in every sense and it being managed by an incompetent idiot which was then passed down to all the other members of staff making them all incompetent. After spending two nights at the Hotel a couple of weeks ago I have to say... More
