We stayed four nights in this wonderful house. Our hosts Ann and Colin were extremely friendly, amusing, informative and welcoming. The breakfasts were superb and the scrambled egg to die for - the best I have ever tasted! Smoked haddock choice really good. The bedroom was large and comfortable with a beautiful view of the sea. As a composer writing... More

Visited on the 14th September, and Colin immediately came out to help carry our bags from the car. As I was keen to have a room that overlooked the sea, Ann immediately re-jigged her bookings - so very helpful people. The room was lovely, and furnished in a period way. There was a comfy sofa to look out to sea,... More

Britten's birthplace, restored with period furniture, comfortable bed, modern amenities, scrupulously clean, well organised, extremely well looked after, and above all, attention to all the details that complete the seaside B&B experience. Breakfasts were of excellent quality with locally sourced ingredients, and served with wit and charm! Car parking is limited at the location, but on-street, free parking is a... More

We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful Britten House! We wanted to go somewhere lovely for our 21st Anniversary. Colin is such a lovely host and made us feel most welcome, sorry I didn't get to meet Ann - perhaps next time! Colin told us the best places to eat and we had a lovely meal at The Harbour... More

We had a comfortable room with a lovely sea view. Owners Colin and Ann were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious, especially the nice, creamy scrambled eggs. The street outside was surprisingly quiet considering it's the seafront. There's a classy Chinese restaurant next door, or it's a short walk to the town centre. Recommended.

If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Lowestoft, you'll be doing yourself a favour by booking in to Britten House on Kirkley Cliff Road. We've just enjoyed another weekend at Britten House and when in Lowestoft wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. The owners Ann & Colin provide an efficiently run B&B, very comfortable rooms, immaculately clean en-suite, a... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this very welcoming guest house and would gladly return if we found ourselves back in the area. The house is nicely furnished, well-decorated and very clean - the owners obviously take great pride in giving their clients the best, they even provided a shoe tray in the room for dirty or wet shoes. Colin and Ann were lovely, the rooms were clean, the breakfasts delicious and it is a historic house, the birthplace of Benjamin Britten, hence the name. We had a lovely welcome and Ann recommended a few places to eat. We discovered a couple of the restaurants are shut on Tuesdays. Nice quiet road which was good for someone like me... More
