The room overlooked the car park and was freezing when we arrived. For £95 a night that is a bit much. A bedside lamp needed a bulb which we ended up changing ourselves. It was comfortable enough but Stanwell House is the same price and much better. The pub is great as is the food but the accomodation is not... more

Three nights in this traditional English pub (surprisingly run by a French couple) allowed the time to assess all aspects of its offering. The room we stayed in was well-furnished, clean and gave a view across the yacht club to the estuary and beyond. The bathroom was spacious with an excellent shower facility and sufficient surfaces upon which to spread... more

We only stayed one night but wish it could have been longer. Beautiful room with view of the Solent and extremely clean. The restaurant in the evening had a great menu with local caught fish and very helpful and friendly staff. Good value for money. Our only criticism would be the time of breakfast being 8-9 Mon - Friday. Perhaps... more

If I could summarise my advice about the Mayflower it would be this – don’t go! In spite of the positive review below, my recent visit to the Mayflower has not inspired me wax lyrical about it’s virtues. Instead I will give you an honest appraisal of my stay, warts and all, so that if you do decide not to... more

I wanted to take my beloved wife away for a night on our way home from visiting the family over half term and having found that the top-rated hotel here on tripadvisor was closed tried this one out. Turns out it's a very nice hotel at a reasonable rate with lovely rooms and excellent pub food - I had the... more

Booked the Mayflower after reading the one review in Tripadvisor and thought that we would give it ago as we could not get in to the Cottage where we had stayed before. We booked the Four Poster room over the phone as we had just planned to get away before I had surgery. On arrival we were told that we... more

Boat hunting at Berthon Marina, Lymington The Mayflower was recommended by the broker. Our problem - a large 2 year old Old English Mastiff (a small pony!); but the lovely staff at The Mayflower made us as welcome as the dog. Marina view bedroom, immaculately clean en-suite bathroom and the best "pub grub" we've had, sure sign of good food... more
