The hotel looked appealing from the car park but stepping through the door was like stepping into a care home with the stifling temperature and the chairs ranged around the walls. I was shown to a family room but my parents were given a regular double and when we suggested that we had been given the wrong keys we were... More

My husband and I have just spent a weekend at this hotel. First impressions were very welcoming as we arrived in the rain. The receptionist was very helpful asking us if we would like help with the luggage and general information. We were booked in a garden room which was very big with lovely views and French doors opening out... More

The hotel looks good from outside, but inside it's like stepping back into the 1970's. It needs an overhaul. However, the hotel was full (peak season) and I had a quiet and restful nights sleep - the bed was comfortable at least but I paid £110 for one nights stay and I think it was overpriced. They need to make... More

My daughter & our son-in-law gave my wife & i a red letter day gift, we chose a two day break at this hotel. On arrival we were met by a mature miserable lady, she asked if we would like a newspaper in the mornings i said no, would you like dinner i said no we had just eaten, well... More

Rude and sullen receptionist (everything seemed to be an inconvenience) and equally rude General Manager; chef wouldn't prepare me an omelet as there was nothing on the menu I liked; rooms dated and couldn't turn off the radiators. The weekend we stayed was extremely hot, but despite this all the radiators were on in the corridors. Wanted to know what... More

Arrived prior to the check-in time but I was able to register and have the key to the room for when I returned. Reception staff very friendly and gave me all the information I needed. The room was warm, clean, spacious and well equipped, tea/ coffee facilities (the long life milk tasted much better than the usual ones!) hair dryer... More

I'm writing this review has a guest at a wedding at South Lawn and not someone who stayed overnight, so will be unable to comment regarding the rooms or bathroom etc. Attended a wedding here on Sunday and found the staff to be very polite, professional. Nothing was too much and still the same smiles even after serving for nearly... More

I feel sure that a few years ago this was a lovely hotel. Luckily the beds were very comfort because the service, food and cleanliness was very poor indeed. Our bathroom had very rusty radiator and a shower that was either off or you could poach eggs in. Old paint splashes were all over the dirty floor and the curtains... More

We stay at South Lawn Hotel for two nights and could not be made more welcome. The staff could not do enough for you and were helpful from start to finish. The location is lovely and only a short walk to Milford on Sea. Rooms although a little dated were spotlessly clean. We had breakfast and it was delicious, lots... More
