.This was our second time at South Lawn The staff made us welcome and helpful. The breakfast was enjoyable plenty to eat and cooked well. We had room 17 overlooking the fields with horses and sheep. The only fault I had with the room was the bathroom the shower was low if you were tall person you would have problems

We had a couple of nights here last weekend. The room was clean and spacious. toilet and bathroom could do with being refurbed, but they were as good as a toilet and bathroom need to be. The evenig meal we had was fine but not great. There was plenty available for breakfast, our problem was that we had eaten too... More

I do not think I would want to stay here. Faded fifties. Bit of "Fawlty Towers". HOWEVER, my wife and I were entertaining my 94 year old Aunt for her birthday lunch (and her 98 year old sister) and the choice of menu, the service and presentation was very good and exceptional value for money. There were certainly a lot... More

Stayed here in April. The room was appalling. Damp on the walls causing the wallpaper to peel/chip off. The shower was not suitable for adults as you're unable to stand up due to the sloping roof. The whole hotel is in serious need of refurbishment - it's like stepping back into the 1960's! Very tired & dated. We paid £120... More

We have stayed here for the New Forest show - the hotel itself needs a makeover, a lick of paint and update bathrooms- the breakfast is not good - with boiled sausage and boiled mushrooms, the rest was fine, cereals, danish pastries etc but the staff are very helpful and so make up for some of the failings of the... Stayed here for two nights. Receptionist was somewhat cold towards us and continued that way throughout our stay but dont let this put you off. I was disappointed that all the literature points you to the fact that this is close to Lymington but actually isnt. Its at least a 3-4 mile drive back to the centre of Lymington and... More

My daughter and I stayed here for a couple of nights recently. On arrival we were greeted at reception with a friendly smile and were made to feel very welcome. I would have given South Lawn an 'excellent' rating, but although our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, there had obviously been issues with water leaks in the past which hadn't... More

We loved stopping here. We were made to feel so welcome and had a very relaxing weekend, especially after a dreadful stay at a Christchurch B and B a couple of months ago. This hotel had character and was so different from some of those very modern, faceless corporate places. The bedroom was large, with an excellent en-suite. The breakfast was... More

Easy to find just five minutes from Milford on Sea centre. Very welcoming and excellent staff. There was a wedding going on but our room was well away from any noise. Comfortable nights sleep. Nice to have breakfast cooked to order rather than the faceless buffet style so popular these days. Followed breakfast with tea on the lawn and the... More
