Arrived prior to the check-in time but I was able to register and have the key to the room for when I returned. Reception staff very friendly and gave me all the information I needed. The room was warm, clean, spacious and well equipped, tea/ coffee facilities (the long life milk tasted much better than the usual ones!) hair dryer... More

I'm writing this review has a guest at a wedding at South Lawn and not someone who stayed overnight, so will be unable to comment regarding the rooms or bathroom etc. Attended a wedding here on Sunday and found the staff to be very polite, professional. Nothing was too much and still the same smiles even after serving for nearly... More

I feel sure that a few years ago this was a lovely hotel. Luckily the beds were very comfort because the service, food and cleanliness was very poor indeed. Our bathroom had very rusty radiator and a shower that was either off or you could poach eggs in. Old paint splashes were all over the dirty floor and the curtains... More

We stay at South Lawn Hotel for two nights and could not be made more welcome. The staff could not do enough for you and were helpful from start to finish. The location is lovely and only a short walk to Milford on Sea. Rooms although a little dated were spotlessly clean. We had breakfast and it was delicious, lots... More

At just under a mile from the High Street, this was walkable (and we had a great walk back from further away than that, starting with the sun setting on the Needles). Our room was very spacious, with plenty of room to sit and read or write, which I did a lot of overlooking the field, with its sheep, magpies,... More

It is good value for money. We has a good size room that was clean and comfy. The decor and bathroom is a bit tired but OK. The breakfast was OK, standard cooed breakfast, no fresh fruit and coffee was well brewed, but OK. For a good value one night stay it fitted the bill.

We have stayed at South Lawn on several occasions and as many reviewers say it is not modern and doesn't pretend to be. The rooms are big and maybe some of the bathrooms could use a make-over but this is more than made up for by the pleasure of almost stepping back in time. By that I mean you will... More

The good bits ... huge car parking facility ... large lounge with comfortable armchairs and settees ... the food was very well cooked, presented, plentiful and very tasty. The not so good bits ... the bar could do with a larger selection of beer's and larger's ... the bedroom could have done with a make over as ours looked a... More

it was like good hotels used to be without the hustle and bustle of more ultra-modern hotels . room was lovely, overlooking the garden. it was very peaceful and very convenient for lymimgton and milford -on-sea . we bth have busy lives and this was perfect to recharge our batteries and relax.
