Wife and I stayed last night. Food was lovely, Gavin the barman was a great help and the grounds were lovely. Didn't enjoy being woken at 8 by loud slamming door in kitchen. Hotel a bit dated, but still had an enjoyable stay. Perfect for one night.

We stayed for one night as we had a family party in Milford. Our room was very large and overlooked the fields behind with sheep and horses for company. I would agree that the hotel rooms need refurbishing as they are stuck in a 1970s time warp, including corby trouser press and ancient hairdryer sitting in a hole in the... More

Just a one night stay in quite a large comfortable room. Twin beds were very comfortable there was a large comfy 3 seater sofa with matching chair, TV, coffee table and numerous drawers and a wardrobe. The bathroom needed TLC but was very clean. Breakfast was very nice with lots of choice, waitresses were very attentive.

Stayed at the hotel for four nights and found the staff very friendly and welcoming. Ate from both the bar and restaurant menus and the meals presented were far below standard, with major items missing, despite being listed on the menu, it appeared the chef was not reading his own offerings. Made it very difficult for the waiting staff. Room... More

.This was our second time at South Lawn The staff made us welcome and helpful. The breakfast was enjoyable plenty to eat and cooked well. We had room 17 overlooking the fields with horses and sheep. The only fault I had with the room was the bathroom the shower was low if you were tall person you would have problems

We had a couple of nights here last weekend. The room was clean and spacious. toilet and bathroom could do with being refurbed, but they were as good as a toilet and bathroom need to be. The evenig meal we had was fine but not great. There was plenty available for breakfast, our problem was that we had eaten too... More

I do not think I would want to stay here. Faded fifties. Bit of "Fawlty Towers". HOWEVER, my wife and I were entertaining my 94 year old Aunt for her birthday lunch (and her 98 year old sister) and the choice of menu, the service and presentation was very good and exceptional value for money. There were certainly a lot... More

Stayed here in April. The room was appalling. Damp on the walls causing the wallpaper to peel/chip off. The shower was not suitable for adults as you're unable to stand up due to the sloping roof. The whole hotel is in serious need of refurbishment - it's like stepping back into the 1960's! Very tired & dated. We paid £120... More

We have stayed here for the New Forest show - the hotel itself needs a makeover, a lick of paint and update bathrooms- the breakfast is not good - with boiled sausage and boiled mushrooms, the rest was fine, cereals, danish pastries etc but the staff are very helpful and so make up for some of the failings of the... Stayed here for two nights. Receptionist was somewhat cold towards us and continued that way throughout our stay but dont let this put you off. I was disappointed that all the literature points you to the fact that this is close to Lymington but actually isnt. Its at least a 3-4 mile drive back to the centre of Lymington and... More
