After reading several not so nice comments made about the hotel on trip advisor I was so relieved at the absolutely wonderful weekend we had there. The staff were pleasant, the rooms were spacious and clean and the restaurant was amazing. The food was tasty and beautifully served - The Head Chef should be praised for his care and attention... more

I have just arrived home from organising a hugely successful Masonic Ladies Festival for 76 guests. not one of my guests had a complaint in fact every one without exception praised the hotel and all of the staff that looked after them. we cannot thank them enough, nothing was too much trouble for them. as a result of this we... more

Having read some of the negative reviews I find it hard to think I stayed at the same place. I stayed at the Elmers Court for a long weekend in September for a friends wedding. The grounds are absolutely magnificent and the staff were all warm and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed an extra night.... more

What a nice way to spend a week off work. Just outside the New Forest it is lovely and peaceful. The grounds were beautiful, the staff in the two restaurants very polite and the food was sensational. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if the hotel controlled the sun! more

Not up to the usual MacDonald hotel standard experienced at many of the other hotels in the chain. Front desk staff were not attentive at all, and seemed in a hurry to get rid of their clients. When we were checking out the lady on the front desk was on the phone whilst dealing with us. Staff didn't fulfill gold... more

The staff lacked attentiveness from check in onwards. The room was adequate but there was no internet, the TV only had 4 channels, it needed a deep clean (the carpet when rubbed with a cloth came up brown!) and decorating. We opted for the breakfast, and were greeted by an unenthusiastic member of staff. The food was what I would... more

We booked online a Macdonald's Seasonal Promotion DB&B. On arriving at 2.30pm our room was not ready and it was explained 'official' check in time was 3pm even though our online confirmation stated 2pm. Our request for an upstairs lodge was met with an extra charge although, to be fair, this was waived. The shock came when we later booked... more

We stayed for two nights in one of the garden lodges. The room was adequate, clean but nothing special and rather devoid of character after checking in at the main reception which forms part of the original mansion house. The grounds and location are the main features of this place. Well kept and extensive backing onto the marina. Although we... more

Rooms very poor. dirty carpets and bedding, No one on Reception and when we made reservation for the Restaurant didn't pass on the message. Hotel Restaurant staff very good and attentive but expensive. We could hear the Chef having a tantrum from the bar so it made us anxious whether he would still be there to cook our meal later! more

Spent a few days at the Elmers Court as part of a summer break in the New Forest. The hotel is an old manor house, set in lovely grounds and is well located for all of the main New Forest attractions. I had read some previous reviews on Tripadvisor regarding the accomodation which I have to disagree with - when... more
