The hotel is in the High Street but we never found it noisy (although we were on a midweek break). Standard rooms are very small, well furnished but tired looking. If you have problems with stairs ask for a garden room as there is no lift. Bathroom again was tiny but modern, very little room for own possessions and no... More

After having finished the first leg of a charity bike ride, Stanwell House laid on a VERY welcome lunch for us weary cyclists. They were very helpful, and very generous with the lovely food. PLUS it's a great place, quirky and a real oasis of calm civility.

This is a rather eccentric hotel in its style converted from an old building with an individual style of room décor - whether you like 4 posters etc this would depend upon indivdual taste. Our room was facing the main road and wasn't noisy with the window shut - but such rooms might be a problem for light sleepers in... More

Our booking was based on a recommendation from friends who had stayed at the Stanwell for a weekend. I am pleased to say our experience lived up to the expectations. Excellent polite service service in all areas and relaxed surroundings. The breakfast was superb will all food freshly cooked and plenty of choice of cerials, fruit and pastries. Again, good... More

i have stayed here on several occasions and it never disappoints. A warm greeting is the first thing, lovley rooms, very clean and all the fittings and furnishings were of a high standard. Dry dock (the small cocktail bar at the front of the hotel) is a perfect place for a pre dinner drink with lovely cocktails and chilled fizz.... More

This was our third stay at this hotel. We booked last minute to visit family. We stayed in a room in the main hotel for the first time. Previously have stayed on ground floor in Garden Rooms. Won't book this area again. Room small and bathroom tiny and claustrophobic. Very loud extractor fan in our room and adjoining room. No... More

We were recommended this hotel by local friends as a stop-over to a visit to the Isle of Wight. We were travelling in a classic car and asked especially about parking. We were re-assured that safe off-road parking was available but, despite asking never found it. We also wanted to stay in a four poster bed room which indeed we... More

From the off, virtually everything about dealing with these guys made my stay a wonderful experience. After ringing the hotel direct, I outlaid my plans which was thoroughly worthwhile as they managed to allow me into my room at 10.00am to give me time to freshen up after my journey, knowing I was on a boat all day and therefore...
