We were staying in the village and wanted to eat out. Found this pub after not being able to get in at The Blue Ball and we were pleasantly surprised. Lunch on Sunday was excellent so much so we booked again for Monday Evening. Staff were pleasant and very obliging. Again the selection and quality was super. Would recommend this... More

This pub has a large car park which leads past the beer garden (to the left) through the patio to the conservatory. The conservatory is the restaurant, but is showing signs of wear, staining apparent on the overhead blinds. After passing through the conservatory, the kitchen is straight ahead and one turns right to enter the bar. The bar can... More

We were attending a wedding in the village and needed somewhere close by. Originally we tried to book online but it said that it was fully booked but when my wife called it turned out they had plenty of room! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had an evening meal... More

We have stayed here for b&b, could not fault it, room lovely bed comfy, very quiet, we have also had meals here as well, beautifully cooked and presented, and not over priced, they welcome dogs which is a bonus for us, sells real ale, very friendly little pub and resturant, I would strongly recomend here if you want to go to... We have stayed at the Old Plough a couple of times, both for 'big' family birthdays. On both occasions, the staff here went well beyond the call of duty - nothing was too much trouble. Our group was made up with an age range of 12 - 72 years, meat eaters and veggies. We had both birthday celebration meals at... More

We stayed one night The room was large and seemed perfectly clean to me although the missus spotted some cobwebs and dust. Big bathroom and adequate shower. The rooms are next to a road so you hear some noise but nothing drastic and it certainly didn't affect my sleep. We only had a starter and main course as we were... More

Sunday lunch for family. We really had a great time. The welcome was no nonsense but completely warm and genuine. The beer was well kept and served with a smile. The food was like the welcome: no nonsense but genuine and completely satisfying. Rich steak and kidney gravy with crisp short crust. Chips: perfect! Service uncomplicated, efficient and friendly. Nice simple pub grub served in large quantities with lots of chips and bread. Most mains are huge and good value at £9 to £10. Starters less good value. Grainstore Ten Fifty on tap, what more could you want? Specials on a blackboard. Nicer to eat in the main building close to the fire rather than in the conservatory.

My fiancé and I had what was a nice meal, great village location but let down by poor unprofessional service and the landlord "bald" chap do not know his name was very drunk, all in all good food but poor service!

A pleasant experience with great atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful and the locally brewed Grainstore Brewery ale served was in excellent condition. I'd definitely recommend this country village pub as a place to visit.
