We frequently stay at The Old Wisteria when visiting my family and it really does feel like a home from home. The staff are fantastic - really friendly and ready to help. The rooms are wonderful - comfortable beds, well laid out and the bathrooms are of that relaxation quality - the sort where you can lounge in the bath... More

We paid just £80 for dinner, bed and breakfast: a bargain! Yes, the hotel lacked a bit of atmosphere in the evening but the food was excellent. Free wifi and a super bathroom added to the experience. And Kate was so friendly and accommodating.

At first glance the hotel seems out of another earlier age and thinly staffed. But dont be deceived. This place is good. The rooms are lovely. Good linen. Efficient housekeeping. Best over bath shower I have ever had. And all very good value for money. If I had a tiny niggle breakfast was OK - but what was requested came... More

Having stayed in this hotel at least 6 times in the last couple of years on overnight business trips I felt it time to post a review , I look for comfort and cleanliness and value for money as cost comes out of profit . Just stayed overnight in room 19 recently refitted with a very nice new bathroom. I... More

Generally tired interior that needs some money spending on it. Very dreary unwelcoming entrance hall and the rooms don't get much better. For 95 pounds I have stayed in countless better hotels. Yes the old lady on the reception might be very nice but that's only one part of it. Avoid if you can

I stayed in this hotel because the majority of hotels in the area were booked. This hotel was in a nice little town close to several places to eat. The bathroom was newly updated and the room was comfortable. The breakfast was good. Unfortunately the water heaters were not adequate and I did not have hot water each morning for... More

Stayed here over Christmas on a bed and breakfast basis. Very conveniently located for the town centre. Car park adequate over the Christmas period but likely to fill quickly at other times, but a long stay public car park is adjacent. Room was clean and a good size with a modern bathroom. Rooms have all the facilities one needs for... More

I have stayed many times in the Old Wisteria Oakham the last occasion on the Saturday night before Christmas 2013. I thought it about time I said something about this little gem of a hotel in Rutland's County Town of Oakham. There is nothing nicer than to be remembered with a welcome hello every time one books. It is a... More

We needed a hotel room near family at short notice, as we decided on a last minute visit, so found this one on Thursday night, got a fantastic deal and booked for the Saturday night. Car park was a little small but we did manage to park (didnt arrive until 9pm). Our room was a decent size, nice and clean... More
