A warm welcome and relaxing atmosphere brings us back to this special place again and again. The chicken supper is magical and Duncan's locally sourced breakfast has to be experienced as words don't do it justice! We love this place but... sssh... don't tell everybody ;o) It's our best kept secret!

What a wonderful place. Very unusual and quirky. The food is out of this world, and yet it is all local produce !! Duncan and Alex provide such a warm welcome, it is more like visiting your favourite uncle and aunt - I loved every minute.

We returned to Hill house for our 2nd visit last weekend. It was as wonderful as we had remembered. Big rambling house with gardens, large well appointed suites of rooms with individually decorated quirks, comfortable large 4 poster beds, beautiful views and roll top baths. Attentive but not intrusive hosts, wonderful facilities with cozy bar, massive choice of films and... More

We stopped here a couple of weeks ago and we've never felt so welcome and looked after anywhere. A huge thank you to Duncan for the delicious food and very special bed and breakfast. We had the North Suite which was heavenly.....the comfiest bed ever! Peace and quiet was just what the doctor ordered! We will be back!

Just a quick note to say thank you to Duncan for a lovely stay. We have been meaning to write this review since our visit in August 2012 and I'm ashamed to say it's taken this long, the memories though have not faded and have always made us smile, from the gigantic breakfast that defeated us each morning to whiling... Thank you Duncan and Alex for another lovely stay at the Hill House. Wonderful breakfasts, a relaxed evening in the new hot tub and a chance to get away from it all. Can't wait to return. Welsh wines, great beer, organic food and a really friendly welcome.

We spent a few nights here after Christmas and it was a lovely break. Not getting there till late on the Friday night we were welcomed in to the lovely house where the owner lit a fire and gave us a complementary bottle of wine and let us settle in. The next morning he went out to get some fresh... More

A few words- comfortable, relaxing, unconventional, building site, hospitable, shambles, homely, welcoming. The first morning of our stay it was pouring with rain. Never before have I thought (while in a B&B) I could quite happily spend the day here. Freedom to roam, to sit surrounded by books or in the lounge/bar. Even the opportunity to watch a DVD in... This is the place to go when you have had enough of boring, soulless hotels. The owners of this hotel are genuinely caring and very, very funny! The hotel is delightfully quirky and a delicious well cooked dinner can be followed by relaxing in the hot tub under a starry sky. Make sure that you arrive hungry, Duncan will cluck... More
