We had an excellent visit to Hill house. Quite capable of dealing with a vegan two vegetarians and a meat eater with ease providing delicious food with generous portions. High standard of local sourced food mostly organic and excellent quality. Rooms were very comfortable and welcoming ensuite bathrooms TV dvd tea and coffee provided. Good storage space. Ghosts were friendly.... More

We spent six nights at Hill House and could happily have stayed longer. Duncan went out of his way to ensure that we had an enjoyable holiday. The bed in the Dryad Suite was huge and extremely comfortable. We had a great view across the valley to the Black Mountains, and the wood burning stove kept us cosy at night.... More

The Hill House is a wonderful oasis of relaxation, the perfect antidote to the stress of the outside world. The rooms are very comfortable, and the suites the largest rooms I have ever encountered in any hotel, when the Hill House says a room is a suite they really mean it. The welcome from Duncan and Alex is warm and... More

I stayed in the North Suite with three friends on 21/22 March and had a most fantastic weekend Hill House. Alex and Duncan have made their bed and breakfast into a welcoming, joyous, intriguing and exciting place to stay in a beautiful setting. There was so much to do in the house alone, I'm going to have to come back.... More

This guest house is all about 'being' with the Jones's rather than 'keeping up' with them. If you're looking for anodyne luxury free from animals (specifically dogs, cats and chickens) including pristine lawns and polished steps, new carpets and occasional tables with copies of Good Housekeeping fanned across dust-free surfaces, characterless bedroom suites and a clutter-free, silent dining room experience.... This is a belated review as getting married pushed a lot of the things we should have done or of our minds. Stayed in the north suite and it's fabulous. Food is the best i have eaten anywhere and Duncan is a real gent. Please do not visit if you want an antiseptic anodyne experience and don't duo the run... More

Stayed at the Hill House for 3 nights, We booked the Dryad suite, which is massive, but cosy at the same time, with a wood burning stove. The bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept in!. Great food, and lots of it!, and very hospitable hosts, would definitely recommend a stay here...

Yet again....a thoroughly enjoyable stay at The Hill House! Please pay no heed to the bad review previously posted by some-one....The hosts are fun and welcoming, we are always made more than welcome, and we had a truly relaxing stay, with delicious food, a comfortable and huge bed, and good conversation in the bar. Have visited many many times, and... More
