This is a belated review as getting married pushed a lot of the things we should have done or of our minds. Stayed in the north suite and it's fabulous. Food is the best i have eaten anywhere and Duncan is a real gent. Please do not visit if you want an antiseptic anodyne experience and don't duo the run... More

Stayed at the Hill House for 3 nights, We booked the Dryad suite, which is massive, but cosy at the same time, with a wood burning stove. The bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept in!. Great food, and lots of it!, and very hospitable hosts, would definitely recommend a stay here...

Yet again....a thoroughly enjoyable stay at The Hill House! Please pay no heed to the bad review previously posted by some-one....The hosts are fun and welcoming, we are always made more than welcome, and we had a truly relaxing stay, with delicious food, a comfortable and huge bed, and good conversation in the bar. Have visited many many times, and... More

I have stayed in many B&B's and cottages throughout the UK, all with no problems throughout. The Hill House however are an exception. After enquiring the day before about availability for the weekend, I received a friendly Voicemail from Duncan explaining that they had a room available for my specified days. The Hill House website advertises rooms at between £25... More

A warm welcome and relaxing atmosphere brings us back to this special place again and again. The chicken supper is magical and Duncan's locally sourced breakfast has to be experienced as words don't do it justice! We love this place but... sssh... don't tell everybody ;o) It's our best kept secret!

What a wonderful place. Very unusual and quirky. The food is out of this world, and yet it is all local produce !! Duncan and Alex provide such a warm welcome, it is more like visiting your favourite uncle and aunt - I loved every minute.

We returned to Hill house for our 2nd visit last weekend. It was as wonderful as we had remembered. Big rambling house with gardens, large well appointed suites of rooms with individually decorated quirks, comfortable large 4 poster beds, beautiful views and roll top baths. Attentive but not intrusive hosts, wonderful facilities with cozy bar, massive choice of films and... More

We stopped here a couple of weeks ago and we've never felt so welcome and looked after anywhere. A huge thank you to Duncan for the delicious food and very special bed and breakfast. We had the North Suite which was heavenly.....the comfiest bed ever! Peace and quiet was just what the doctor ordered! We will be back!

Just a quick note to say thank you to Duncan for a lovely stay. We have been meaning to write this review since our visit in August 2012 and I'm ashamed to say it's taken this long, the memories though have not faded and have always made us smile, from the gigantic breakfast that defeated us each morning to whiling...
