My husband and I stayed at The Kings Head with our daughter and her husband for one night after a family reunion nearby. We had requested Room 6, which we knew to be a great room and we were not disappointed. Our daughter & husband had Room 10, which was a super room too. Although it was a Sunday evening... More

Booked online and even with good reviews places can be a gamble but room, staff and evening meal all excellent! Also slap bang in the middle of Ross so easy to go and walk off the excesses afterwards!

Friendly, efficient staff together with excellent food, and all at a very reasonable price. The hotel itself has awkward stairs but comfortable bar and lounge and brilliantly designed and decorated dining room. Beds very comfortable and more or less everything worked. Only minor criticisms are tasteless olive oil, and some vandal puts sugar in the porridge.

My wife and I stopped here on our way to wiltshire and in fact found the hotel on line by sitting in a mcdonalds in Wales. It is a lovely inn with lots of character, the staff were very helpful and the rooms were very well presented. We stayed in a room on the second floor with a wet room,... More

Spent 1 night here after a long day on the road. Everything about the hotel is great, such a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere topped of with some good food, excellent rooms and friendly staff. Loved it.

Superb hotel, welcoming and the winning quality for me was the staff . Obviously a winning management policy . The food was of a high standard using local produce. It is what it is ....a very old coaching inn so be prepared for steep stairs and uneven floors . A delightful building plus the comfort of the beds, quality of... More

We spent 2 nights on a DB&B offer at the end of May. When arriving please note there is a very narrow tight turn into the car park, but this was of course built for horses not cars. From the car park you enter the hotel from the back and perhaps do not get a very good first impression, there... More

This is a well-run pub/restaurant/hotel. We stayed 2 nights recently. The bar and restaurant are of a high standard - local beer, local food produce are a stand-out feature. Fish dishes are particularly good - even for breakfast! Given the age and location of the building don't expect an entirely logical layout of the facilities. Bedrooms are comfy, though the... More

We stayed in this privately owned hotel "The King's Head" for one night in May- travelling with a large dog. We enjoyed our evening meal as well as breakfast there. Yes, there are many stairs, the building is a bit of a "warren" and the rooms are fairly average. However, the bed is very comfortable and certainly, a room at... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are really pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and were impressed with our friendly team, the hotel's ambience and the local food we offer. The King's Head is a historic former coaching Inn and unlike modern purpose built hotels, no one room is the same as another. The... More

We are locals. Whenever anybody asks where to eat in Ross, we always recommend this pub/restaurant/hotel. The service is good. Compared to other restaurants in town, I'd say this is usually the more pricey but my gosh it is worth paying extra for. Even the drinks seem to taste better here: it's as if they have worked out what tastes... More
