Obviously it's not the tourist season in Ross on Wye so I got a great deal on the room. Having said that I would have happily paid the full rate! It's a great hotel with nicely decorated rooms and power showers. Breakfast was first rate. Will definitely stay again.

We took advantage of the excellent dinner bed and breakfast package, including a bottle of house wine for £99! The sale was for January week day bookings, although I'm unsure of weekend rates, maybe they're a little more? These excellent offers are accessible via the website and we had a fantastic time! Roll on January 2017!

Stayed in room 12, a large room at the front of the hotel. Very comfortable. Meals in the hotel were excellent. Lovely atmosphere in the bar, which is a proper bar, not just a hotel bar. Locals in drinking and eating, which gave it a nice ambience. Will stay here again when I next visit Ross (my home town). Staff... More

Four of us went for a meal on a Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. Great ambiance in the restaurant and bars and just the right amount of lighting. Couldn't fault anything. The service we received from the young staff was first class. The food was excellent (especially the giant onion rings!). You are not rushed or ignored, would recommend... More

We had lunch at this hotel over the Christmas period. We sat in the bar where there was lots of atmosphere and comfortable seating. This is a lovely old pub in that tradition. We ordered sandwiches which were really delicious in fact we had the best roast pork and apple sauce sandwich we had ever had. Something simple done well.... More

My husband and I had night away to celebrate our anniversary and wanted somewhere to go not too far from home. When we arrived we were shown to our room and the bed was like sitting on a cloud so comfy . After a drink and a walk around the town we had our evening meal in the restaurant. There... More

Have visited a few times for family meals in the restaurant. Very clean and interesting little touches like the well and the lovely home baked bread. Food is good, small menu, cooked fresh on order. Good portions. It's still pub food but of a higher than usual standard in my view. Plenty of good drink choices too. Recommended.

We spent a Saturday night here with my wife and I in the 4-poster room and our friend staying in a single occupancy room. Our lovely stay started with a very friendly welcome, not only for us but for our dog too. Often, when staying in dog friendly hotels, the welcome is for the guests and the dog is tolerated....
