We must have been doubly unlucky according to other peoples reviews. Having been twice to the pub and ordered food to eat outside in the garden. The first time we had to wait 40 minutes for a toasted baguette, whitebait and duck spring rolls and the second time 1hr and 20minutes for jacket potato, whitebait, and two hotdogs. The hotdogs... Beautiful location, had high hopes walking upto it. Barman took our order of food about 7.30pm I ordered the chilli con carne, my partner had the lasagne. We told the barman we would sit outside. Within 5 minutes our food was out. Too quick in my opinion. Must of been thrown in microwave. And for long as it was cold... More

If you are ever in Ross you definitely can't go wrong with a visit to the Hope and Anchor. The pub is situated in an amazing location - right alongside the river Wye and you can be sure of a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The food is your typical pub grub; tasty, well cooked and plenty of it! The service... More

Although there was a wait for food we didn't mind as the garden was very busy with other customers eating and the garden is lovely. I had a Cajun baguette my husband the gammon both were good size portions well cooked. The bar area could be updated but it's a quaint old fashioned style decor that is individual. I'm fed... More

Called in for lunch. Staff were friendly but the food service post order was painfully slow and the children were hungry. We waited for over 40 minutes for a bacon and cheese baguette - that is too long! What I really did not like was watching was the bar staff collecting glasses and smoking - not a good sign and... This pub backs out onto the River Wye, and has dozens of table and chairs out the back as well as plenty of river bank should you wish to have a bite to eat or a quick pint. However we ordered our food, and then took our drink out the back to the river and waited and waited and waited.... More

We were visiting Ross on Wye on our holidays and came across Hope Treasures while walking along the river Wye. We went in to have a look and were greeted by very friendly staff. We ordered some coffees, bottled drinks for the kids and some paninis for lunch. The price was very reasonable and the coffee was lovely. There was... More

We called in the hope and anchor and ordered food at the bar, after a hour wait we went to the bar to ask how much longer the food would be, to be told it would be three minutes, ten minutes later our food came out. We told the waitress that we had been waiting for over a hour, which... More

Everything - and I mean everything is old, dirty, broken or falling apart. The kettle was 2 years over the PAT test and one plug socket was wobbling in the wall which was worrying. Breakfast was basic and it took 4 attempts to find a clean knife. Very cheap, a nice view and friendly which are the only consolations. Hopefully... More

We had lunch in the beer garden here on a nice sunny day overlooking the river. The food was ok but we only ordered baguettes and chips. It was brought to us within about 20 minutes and tasted fine. Young lad on the bar seemed like he didn't want to be there to be honest, although the lady who brought... More
