My husband and friends had a 4 day trip and stayed at this hotel. The room was functional and they ate and drank in the bar / restaurant. Food was good with generous portions and home cooked. Breakfast was also good and staff were helpful and could not do enough. If you are fishing in Ross this is an ideal... More

I agree with Ash B, this is a very decent hotel in a wonderful location which is crying out for some investment to tart it up. I only stayed one night, the room was fine but the bathroom very small-you couldn't get a tubby in there. As a B+B for £50 it was exactly what I needed as a cheap... More

Set in a great location, shame the place is so grubby! Everything about this place screams for a really good spring clean! Run down at best. Food is OK, service is OK, prices are OK. It's an OK kind of place. With some time and money spent on it, the Hope and Anchor could be one of the best pubs... More

The food was average at best. My baguette was stale. The way to the toilets is absolutely vile and desperately needs a deep clean! The skirting boards are grey with dust and grime. The entire place was grubby and run down including the garden with piles of dog mess near the food tables. Gone downhill and we won't be returning... More

We had a really happy stay at this very friendly hotel. The food was plentiful, piping hot and served quickly. The menu was very varied and suitable for all sorts of diets. Highly recommended. The room had lovely views over the river and the gardens were a delight. A large really comfy bed that made sleeping a pleasure. The staff... More

Having had a look at the recent reviews on here, I am really surprised. I stayed here with my mum for 3 nights, Sept 11-14, 2015. We both found that the food was lovely, the menu had a really wide choice. There was no wait for the food at all. I had a full English breakfast each morning, again it... More

This could be such a fantastic place in a fantastic location. The food is poor, really poor. All seems to be either microwaved or deep fried and takes forever to arrive. The staff don't appear to care very much either which is really disappointing. The bar is ok for a drink but DO go somewhere else to eat.
