Perfect for a relaxing break. Excellent value for money, booked on their late deal section of web, including dinner bed and breakfast. The dinner first class overlooking the estuary. Small quaint town quiet at easter but locals said mayhem in Summer!Modbury and kingsbridge nearby well worth a visit. more

Stayed two nights between xmas and new year.Had deluxe room with view across car park and out to sea.Room was large with balcony but in need of redecorating, balcony was warped and had a big gap between door and frame which caused a terrible draught.Bathroom much the same very old and no cold water in wash basin tap.Staff friendly almost all... more

I treated my Mum to a 2 night stay in Salcombe as it is a lovely scenic town and the hotel is conveniently located and in walking distance to the shops and eateries. The twin room we had on the second floor was large with lots of storage space and a good working TV. The bathroom was good with enough... more

We have just returned early from our weekend. I had booked a surprise birthday weekend away with my new husband for his birthday and was influenced by both the comtemporary website and the cost (£160 per night per room). All looking good on arrival and i have to say the lady on reception was helpful and smiley and reception was... more

To be honest, it almost wouldn't matter what the hotel was like inside, as the location and views are outstanding. The hotel fronts onto the estuary at Salcombe, with its crystal-clear blue waters and golden sands on the opposite side. It has plenty of parking (a real bonus in Salcombe) and is a short stroll (a few minutes) from the... more

Booked a double and single estuary facing rooms for three nights. The single room, for my son, was similar to a broom cupboard. The bedspread was dirty and broken clothes hangers were left at the top of the wardrobe. Upon asking at reception if this was the best room ie in size I was dismissed by reception staff that all... more

With a midday ferry booked from Plymouth to Spain on Wednesday, a two-day break at The Marine seemed to be the ideal way to start our holiday, without the hassle of rushing to the ferry from our home in Hertfordshire. We were not disappointed! We were able to have our room at midday, and it had a beautiful estuary view... more

We have just got back from 3 lovely days in Salcombe staying at the Menzies Marine Hotel. On arrival, as already mentioned the car parking was quite difficult especially with a large car. We were pre warned so expected difficulties. The check in was smooth and easy and we were allocated our room overlooking the estuary, we had paid for... more

After difficulty in parking the car (best to arrive early), we realised that the hotel had been refurbished. The reception is now quite modern looking. There is a lift to the upstairs rooms, which were very comfortable. You must remember that this is a traditional, old hotel, so how can it be like a brand new city centre hotel, as... more

I stayed at the Marine Hotel with my parents between Christmas and New Year and was hugely disappointed by the hotel (as were my parents). I had a single room which was on the third floor - the room itself was tired and the wallpaper was falling off the walls. The room hadn't had seen a duster for a long... more
