Booked a room for two nights and confirmed price twice on phone. Arrived to be sent to a mouldy room with a hallway that smelt terrible and had a water leak onto the carpet. The double 'superior' room smelt of damp and had a large wet black patch on the rear wall. When I opened the window to air the... More

Booked High Tea for 9 ladies, celebrating a special birthday, which I informed the hotel of when booking. Made the booking after reading reviews on this website I must stress!. Anyway on arrival we were shown to a table set in a dark back room, very uninviting, obviously they could see our disappointment and asked if we would rather be... More

Stayed here ahead of attending a wedding reception. We were running late due to a traffic jam on m5. On arriving we had a great welcome by friendly staff member. While comfortable the room was in a little need of tlc but the amazing breakfast and friendliness of staff overcame the slight disappointment in room. Don't get me wrong just... More

Excellent, friendly Service especially by the check in and breakfast staff. Great to have a bar, we arrived late and it was no problem, room was nice, not 5 star but a good standard. Breakfast great value and great tasting. Would stay again.

Where do I start....we booked Browns for an overnight stay with my elderly parents. I advised that we would require a first floor room to avoid the stairs. On arrival, despite the fact that the lift was out of order, my poor parents were allocated a room at the top of the hotel and had to climb 31 stairs and... More

I paid maximum price and my sister paid half of that through a late booking service; both were overpriced for what amounts to an overpriced B&B. The room was dank, smelled of damp with an insidious smell of stale tobacco - probably from the smoking area directly below the room. The bedding wasn't clean and asked for it to be... More

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Cooked breakfast are very good and excellent choice. It is very handy for the moors as most walks are... More

Booked this hotel for a surprise birthday treat for my partner. But it soon became apparent that the website does not reflect the hotel truly today. Not a Molton Brown product in the room at all and certainly not recently refurbished. Staff are friendly but the hotel is in need of whole updating/refurbishment. Tatty decor and furnishings. Very disappointed.

We stayed here on a bed and breakfast basis as I had business to attend in the area. The room we stayed in was clean and adequately furnished, the bed was comfortable and we had an en suite with a bath. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok - just a simple continental breakfast although we had... More

We're fairly local to Browns so occasionally use the restaurant or stop in for coffee on the sofas in the bar area. I thought for Valentines evening it might be fun to have a meal and stay the night. While is was great to escape the kids and not have to drive home after supper, it was really only ok... More
