I am a regular here with it being my local. The atmosphere within the pub is excellent, staff are friendly and welcoming as are the locals. The pub is on e of the oldest within the Lowton area and very rustic yet decor is maintained and well kept. There is a new play area outside for children which grabs the... More

Exquisite spot in rural Cheshire. A corner of old world England with cobbled streets and canal for walks. If you like to be taken back in time this is a little corner of Cheshire to visit. Nearby St Wilfrids Church has a grinning cat carved into the west facing Church Tower. It is suggested this was the inspiration of Lewis... More

Christmas Day can be hit and miss! This was a hit, lovely ambience beautifully decorated too, we weren't squashed together and lots of room between tables, we had a Christmas card too. Excellent service nothing too much trouble and speedy too. The food was lovely tasty and tender turkey not overfaced with potatoes and vegetables either only fault the sprouts... More

The food is excellent quality, served well and garnished creatively. Exceptional value for the lunchtime specials in the week which are well cooked, substantial and very tasty. Service is excellent too. All positive, everything pretty perfect. Thank you!

A wet windy Sunday and it was a lovely warm friendly greeting. Atmosphere welcoming, staff attentive and efficient, food wholesome, horn and tasty and plenty of it. In fact a very pleasant experience and we would certainly like to go again some time. Well done to both front of house and kitchen

If you've ever read my other reviews, one thing I hate is a limited children's menu. The Ram's Head had a full, and varied, child menu. (Only missing a curry). As it happened, all the children wanted fish and chips, which my fussy boy finished! I had the Sunday roast. Very nicely presented and taste. Weakest part was the Yorkshire.... More

A very well run gastro pub which I would highly recommend. Good choice of food on the menu served by a polite and attentive staff. Pub is clean and tastefully decorated and has a good choice of beverages. Excellent location right in the centre of Grappenhall village.

We dropped in mid Saturday afternoon for bite to eat and sat outside in quite a pleasant outdoor area at the rear of the pub as we had the dog. Inside I found the staff really friendly and attentive and we both had the most fab tasty fish goujon 'butty' and chunky chips from a menu with lots of choice.... More

Had an amazing evening. 30 family and friends gathered. We had our own private section. The hot buffet was beautiful and the staff made us all very welcome and nothing was to much trouble. Great night - thanks Fabio and your staff
