We stayed here on our wedding night, because it was very local to where we live and our wedding venue. It made access to Gatwick simple the next morning. The room was clean, comfortable and all you would expect from a village in. Staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a relaxing evening in the bar with friends and... More

Why have a pie when pies are not your favourite thing ? well I am so glad I did - the village pie was a succulent steak and ale pie - really light and so moorish ! With perfect vegetables, great service I was very impressed. A pub in the old sense of the word, not a 5 star restaurant,... More

Booked only on the day of arrival, and arrived quite late in the evening, not to be disappointed. Shame we had booked for dinner elsewhere and didn't spend the evening in as the pub was absolutely packed with locals which is always a good sign. The room is clean and tidy and the bed comfortable. It's in the centre of... More

Visiting family and needed somewhere to sleep over. This was perfect and in an ideal setting in a little village called Findon. Cottage style building with old fashioned beams inside. Staff really friendly. I was shown to my room which was beautifully decorated and the bed was really comfortable. Unfortunately chose a very noisy night to stay with loud laughter... More

Nice home-made beef burger. Proper beef, nicely cooked, but could do with more seasoning - great texture but not so much flavour. Need to serve on plates, not wooden boards - the food falls of the edges and there's not much room on it. Plates are much better, although not so trendy. Good beer.

Stayed for one night in a single room. Hotel is a fascinating old pub with rooms above. Room was big enough as a single, clean and tidy with everything you need, but the shower room was a squeeze. Excellent shower though. The place has character but, being old, does mean that floorboards creak, plumbing rumbles, etc. etc. Evening meal (fish... More

We were made to feel very welcome at the restaurant, we had booked a table so we were seated straight away. They were very busy so we were glad we had booked. The food was very good and we all enjoyed our meals. The staff were very friendly and looked after us very well. Can't rate the hotel as we... More

I didn't actually stay here myself, but I put up my in-laws here for a few days whilst visiting the UK. It is a very nice old English pub B & B! No frills, a bit run down and dusty but it was exactly what my in-laws were hoping for! The room was small but did have an en-suite bathroom.... More

No complaints. All was good. Helpful owner, clean and comfortable room with TV and Wifi. plus plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast was very nice and adequate. Very good value considering the average prices for similar standard properties in the area. All staff were very pleasant. The decor in the passageways to the rooms was a bit tired and dated... More

The positives - set in a lovely village and a lovely building from the outside. Our room was comfortable with plenty of nice, fluffy towels and a very comfortable bed with clean, fresh linen. Plenty of tea/coffee etc., good quality biscuits and some little chocolates. Although situated bang in the middle of the village on the main thoroughfare, minimal traffic... More
