Have eaten here twice and drunk here twice (different occasions) but never stayed. Lovely setting in the quaint village of Findon, The Village is directly next to The Gun pub, but both are very different. Whereas The Gun (also excellent) serves posher nosh and is possibly aiming a bit more upmarket, at The Village you can get a simpler meal... More

We picked this hotel purely because it had a good rating and was advertised as a 4 star hotel. The food in the hotel was very nice indeed, and the staff were very friendly. The bed was nice and comfortable, but the rest of the room was far from 4 star, the room itself was very small, mismatched furniture, dated... More

Great village pub. Friendly welcome from Bev & Coco. The Harvey's ale is served in tip top cask condition, and the food prepared by Ollie and his enthusiastic team is par excellence. If you are lucky to find Salt Beef sandwiches on the lunch menu don't hesitate !!! Also the fish (always fresh & varied) is excellent. The wood burner... More

Four of us went here for a birthday meal as we were in the area. We picked this place out of several in the area because it looked like our sort of place and we were right! We took our seat and were served immediately at 6 when they started serving. They even took drink orders even though this was... More

I'm coming to the end of my final week of 3 at the Village and must say it's been fantastic. From the staff; to the food and the rooms (and Ruby, the pub dog). You know when you've stayed somewhere to long when the locals want to talk to you about village cricket! I have stayed in both a double... More

Findon Village probably has more watering holes and places to eat per head of population than anywhere else on the planet and, without a doubt, the ‘VH’ is currently top of the tree. It may have lost some of its atmosphere from 20 years ago, when it was the favoured haunt of the lads from the local racing stables, but... More

This hotel is an old (AD 1527) coaching inn and is a beautiful old building. We stayed 3 nights and although it is a bit noisy when patrons leave the pub premises it went very quiet after about 11pm, even at the weekend. Bed was a 4 poster and very comfortable and the ensuite modern and clean. The owner was... More

Very welcoming staff, lovely breakfast and thoughtful too as had candles in the toast for our friend's birthday today! Nice touch! Thank you Paul and Amy. Lovely garden to enjoy a drink in the sun too! Even customers are friendly - loved it!

Welcoming helpful staff in this pub/restaurant with rooms. Lovely setting in this pretty narrow-laned village. You don't expect the Dorchester in pub rooms, but these are badly in need of refurbishment. Yellowing paint, tatty decor, generally looking unloved. Room and pub were as reasonably clean as it's possible to be with old stained carpets and ageing paint and wallcoverings. Linen... More
