Great Hotel I will start with the only bad thing is that I find the Staff A little Grumpy at times More So in The Restaurant than anywhere else. I belive they bring staff from sister hotel to help out and maybe they are not so sensitive to the Lanes guest... But Always enjoy a night at Lanes it became... more

I've been lucky enough to stay here a number of times. Very friendly hotel perfect for a business stay (which mine tend to be), but would be an ideal getaway! Lovely large rooms, delicious food, friendly staff and owner! Benefits from a small sauna and jacuzzi for any free time and free wifi for work. I have no hesitation to... more

Stayed here for a weekend recently after reading good reviews on Trip Advisor, and have to say I agree with most of them. We had a lovely room in the new building complete with balcony, and all the other extras people have mentioned. It was the hottest weekend of the year and, whilst the balcony was most welcome, the lack... more

I stayed at the Lanes for a 2 day business trip. It was a very nice stay. The room was updated and modern with a DVD player. There was a decent workout room with new workout equipment. Breakfast was included. The restaurant had a great selection of food. Although service was a little slow. I will definitely stay here again. more

have stayed here twice now, as a base for seeing the Dorset coast. It's about 45 mins from the sea but the standard of rooms and food for the price makes it worth the extra drive. my wife and I plus our 10 year daughter have stayed both in the old part of the hotel, which is beautiful, and also... more

We booked a night at The Lanes hotel as a stop-over en-route to Newquay and we are glad we did it! On first arrival into the village, we could only see the modern new wing which didn't quite fit with our expectations but as we approached the hotel itself from the drive, the original building came into view and we... more

Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. The rooms were very clean, modern, spacious and comfortable. The first place I have ever been where they have had a complimentary mini bar - sure it was not stocked extensively, but a few soft drinks, a few beers and a couple of snacks was ideal for late night munchies or thirst. Also,... more

We paid £130 for one Saturday night in a one bedroom suite (room 20) in the new modern building. Check-in was friendly. Anyone who complains about the nature of the reception desk should get a life. The suite was very well specified - reasonable size bedroom, comfortable 5 foot bed, flat screen TV which didn't work properly (we didn't need... more

A rather stunning facade led to great expectations of this "boutique" hotel. Upon arrival we checked in - a strange reception desk was found - a rather informal table tucked away to one side of the entrance. We were shown rather briskly to our room - we were not aware that the hotel has an modern annexe which is where... more

Just returned from 3 nights at the Lanes. My husband stays down here regularly when he is working down here but as it was our wedding anniversary we thought we would come down for the weekend. We stayed in Room 8 in the main house, although next door there are other rooms in a seperate building which he has also... more
