Cracking pub here, very friendly service and reasonably priced, good pool table and juke box made to feel very welcome and cranked the music up for us, would recommend this place didnt eat so cant comment on that side of it. Give it a go if in the area.

Lived in Yeovil many years ago and the Mermaid could always be counted on for fab food. Knew nothing about the hotel side of things. Booked in for 4 people to stay (we had family already there ) Arrived approx 10pm and the bar was very busy. The gates to the car park were locked preventing us from parking. Luckily... More

Wanted a late lunch a found The Mermaid. Good menu with plenty of choice. Food was served very quickly, nicely presented and hot. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A bit dark and basic in the bar area but we were asked if we wanted to eat in the restaurant. We will be returning when visiting Yeovil again.

I stayed one night whilst visiting a local defence company. Was told that it was a bit noisey and a tad basic, but I don't mind a bit of life. Parking a bit poor but town centre so what would you expect. Bar vibrant, arrived late so a bit disorganised check in. Room was a bit scruffy but was pretty... More

Parking Upon arrival the immediate issue was parking. Having been told to park in the courtyard I was then told I will not be able to leave until 8am at the earliest. Loads of vehicles parked behind me. Appreciate that the parking is very limited, however parking on the street was around the corner, and I'd been told that the... More

Nothing special but a nice enough room, big with an en-suite. The main problem was the pub downstairs - there was a very loud rock/metal covers band playing which, along with lots of well-lubricated people having loud conversations outside while smoking kept me awake until past midnight. Probably best to avoid at weekends, if you avoid the rock 'n' roll... More

Room 2 - single en suite room. Was okay nothing special but the price was right. The room was tidy and clean, the bathroom could have benefited from a fixed shower. Breakfast was no available even during the alloted times

We stayed at the Mermaid for 7 days....the staff were wonderful, friendly, down to earth people. We were given great service every morning for breakfast, and they were very accommodating to our American tastes....so nice. The rooms were clean and neat...yes the building and an "old smell" but you would too if you were 400 years old now wouldn't you?....lol... More

If you are after fine dining avoid this restaurant. If you are looking for a good quality carvery at a very good price then this is the place to be. Pub Decor is slightly tired, but I am more concerned about food. Special mention should go to Sam who was managing the restaurant today. Helpful above and beyond to all... More

We found the hotel staff very helpful, but the place smelt old and musty. Outside the window of our room was an air conditioning unit which was very noisy, but thankfully it was turned off about 11pm. The room was clean and tidy with a hand basin in the room, rather than in the bathroom. There was no shampoo or... More
