On arrival at the city lodge we found the steps a little difficult whilst encumbered with lots of luggage but the welcome once inside was warm and effeicent. Our room was as requested, on the ground floor, it was reasonably clean and had everything you might need from biscuits to a hairdryer. Also, we had good free wi fi. The... More

Public parking opposite at the Cinema/Gym complex (free after 18:00) make for easy access. No lift, but only 3 floors. Rooms are variable (I've stayed here a lot over the past few months). Room 301 is the best, although it is at the top of the stairs. It's a corner room with windows all around and views of the hamsters... More

Room very clean everything you need very pleasant for a budget hotel in the heart of the city parking across the road which is free if you eat at one of the restaurants and get your ticket validated. All of the staff had a smile and friendly word.. Excellent! I would definately choose to stay here again.

Well I know we chose a budget hotel but I thought they might try and make the room a bit more inviting cobwebs hanging from ceiling, dirty old curtains, dirty stained old chair, stained carpet ,mould around shower and room so dingy, could not open windows because we where next to a footpath and a smelly old Indian restaurant extractor... Had a very pleasant stay. Hotel is situated perfect for the town. Room clean and plenty of space with usual tea, coffee, water, biscuits etc. Staff very helpful. Will certainly stay there again if we go to Yeovil.

We had no problem finding this little gem, bang in the centre of town. Had room on third floor with a great view of the hills surrounding the city. What made it great was the car park was just across the road and was so cheap, we paid for the two and a half hours as after 6 o'clock it's... More

Upon arriving at city lodge all looked promising, clean looking room (200) small double but ok for one night. Anyway when closing curtains to get changed I noticed they were really dirty and stained not good! .. we arrived back to the room after our night out at 1.30 am to be met by rattling windows, no sound proofing atall... Ideal for a trip to Yeovil. Perfect location, lovely staff and good, clean room. Excellent shower. Only downers are that they don't do breakfast (but there's a fab cafe round the corner which knocks off 10% (if you remember to mention that you're staying at the City Lodge when paying!)), and parking isn't free after 9 o'clock in the morning... We stayed here last week (March 2014) for 1 night as we were seeing a show in the local Theatre. There isn't on site parking but a car park directly opposite that is free after 6pm. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was clean and spacious and better than some large chain hotels i've stayed in recently for... More

I booked this hotel for 1 night as my daughter had a gymnastics competition the following day in Sherborne. It was exactly what we needed and excellent value for money. Fast check in. Spacious room with refreshments. Flat screen TV. Bathroom with bath and shower. Very clean with comfortable beds. The location was perfect with a car park across the road.... More
