Stayed in the hotel for a function and although the decor was a bit tired and dated, it was very clean and comfortable. The staff couldn't do enough for us for the evening and the breakfast was fabulous. Great little place to stay if you're in the area for a couple of nights. They have family rooms and dog friendly... Book this as dog friendly for overnight stay on Boxing Day. Very friendly lady met us on arrival and showed to our room. Nice comfortable room and had access to area around a lake to walk the dog. Good breakfast and dog allowed in bar. All round good value for money and would recommend

We booked this hotel after seeing an offer on their website for 3 nights for the price of 2 for a family room and a free bottle of wine with each meal. Only £25 was required as a deposit, the balance to be paid on check out. We had a lovely warm welcome from a member of staff (who later... More

There's a lot of unrealised potential at this hotel; the staff are friendly (we talked to the cleaners and restaurant staff who were all lovely), the location is good, the rooms are spacious and bright, the food is fine and the prices are reasonable. But the state of our rooms was, quite frankly, dreadful. I took pictures of all the... More

We stayed in one of the "lodges" adjacent to the main building. Ideal for 3 of us as this one had a double bed upstairs (open bedroom) and twins downstairs. One bathroom, coffee/tea making facilities and a small fridge and sink downstairs. It was very hot during our stay and the extension with the twin beds did get HOT. Apparently... More

We were looking for a room for one night for four people in three rooms and due to last minute booking running out of options. We ended up staying here, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, my parents who needed disabled access had a room set up for the disabled with every thing thought out. We had an evening... More

We stayed for just one night to break our journey to Cornwall. We chose it primarily for the setting, lovely grounds and lake. We stayed in the 'disabled accommodation'. The entrance to which was by one path with steps!!! The alternative path was quite overgrown and somewhat difficult to negotiate. The room we had was very spacious and roomy with... More

Visited on a Saturday night. Food outstanding. Piping hot, tasty and huge portions. Desert was amazing too. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Only let down is the restaurant. It's a bit tucked out the way with no atmosphere. Be good if they knocked down the wall in between to open it up a bit. Will definitely go back though.... More
