I booked my husband into The Croft for one night while collecting our daughter from university. My heart sank on reading the poor reviews but he said he had a good night and although it was very basic it was clean and comfortable and for £30 what more do you expect. more

The staff were friendly, the room was clean and everythng worked perfectly, we had a lovely meal and we were entertained by a Neil Diamond 'sound alike' on the Friday, he was very good and the atmosphere was wonderful. We met the owners at the bar and found them to be a very pleasant couple, the husband being the chef,... more

I should start the review by saying that I am struggling to control my emotions sufficiently in order to write a balanced and articulate review of this place. Such is the anger invoked by revisiting these events. In short, the furniture in our room was grotty, the bedroom was dirty and in the kitchen area dust and other detritus had... more

We pride ourselves on our warm and friendly welcome and also the ambience of our restaurant. We are sorry that this reviewer decided to leave such an inpersonal and unpolite comment and would have happily responded to their complaint in person or by letter. We have responded to a letter sent by a member of this party and would have...

The hotel is actually more like a guest house but acceptable for business needs and also for family if renting one of the larger out rooms. What is presently suprising about this place is the quality of food. The resteraunt is authentic Italian and the food freshley prepared to a very high standard. The house wine is very good too.... more

Absolute nightmare - owners didn't seem to care or bother to assist the guests. Only a very nice girl at the reception who tried her best to accommodate and make feel like home. She cannot run the whole operation though - even if she was trying very hard! Thank you Christina for being there for us! more

We were booked to stay one night here but were treated with such indifference on arrival that we didn't linger. The Croft sits on a busy road and the reception area certainly has a very scruffy appearance, as do the staff. The other reviews seem to confirm our original suspicions. We did well to move on! more

Stayed for two nights for my nephews wedding. We were put in an outside chalet. Kettle did not work and a complaint evoked no response. Towels were not changed daily and there was no room service to speak of. The breakfast differed each day and the dining room was covered with old food off the night before. No apology was... more

I have just had an awful experience at this hotel. The first room we were put in was not properley cleaned, there was no hot water and the room did not lock from the inside. When we were finally moved to another room, this also had no hot water, no telephone this time and again the room did not lock.... more
