Have just eaten in here for the first time since new management took over. The food was absolutely amazing. The service could not be faulted and both the bar staff and landlady could not have been nicer. Having paid over twice the amount for a meal at one of Ashfords 'best' restaurants recently and being sadly disappointed, this meal was... More

I wanted breakfast whilst in the town of Ashford and saw the sign outside saying breakfast £3.95, after hearing awful stories about the George Hotel I thought I would give it a go. What a lovely surprise, the breakfast was excellent, good quality and very cheap, the waitress was polite and professional and we will definitely be going back. The... More

We wanted to eat in town so we tried The George Hotel in the high street. We often walked passed but was'nt sure if it was open in the evenings.( Open from 6-9 every evening ) Booked for 6;30 in the newly decorated dinning room it was quiet at first but quickly filled up. Plenty of choice on the menu... More

Ian the manager is the best professional host I've ever stayed with. To b greeted with "happy holidays, what are you drinking?" is something special. We arrived late at 10pm but a pint was poured immediately and although food was no longer served he was happy to lay out cutlery and watch our bike kit ( plenty of motorbike parking... More

Stayed here for two nights, one either side of a visit to France. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice room, clean, quiet and comfortable, great bar, great breakfast. Close to shopping centre, and Ashford rail station. What more would you want?

We arrived on Wednesday night had a situation with our car once we had told the staff were given use of one of the garages to secure the car during our stay. Staff were wonderful would like to mention Ian the manager and Tom the owner who went out of their way to make us feel so welcome as did... More

We stayed at the George Hotel in January 2013 - really nice rooms and a friendly welcome from the owner. Rooms were warm and had very comfortable beds - really clean too and a decent shower. Had a few drinks in the pub as well which is a really nice place. Fantastic breakfast in the morning.

I booked this hotel/Pub as an overnight stay before using Eurostar. Quite difficult to find (one-way system) but very friendly pub and staff. We booked bed-and-breakfast but as we were leaving at 6.30am (breakfast is at 7am) we had an omelette in the bar in lieu of breakfast. Room was small, but had a newly-appointed bathroom/wet room. Tea and coffee-making... More

Booked into George Hotel for one night, very last minute. Warm welcome, clean nice looking pub, parking on site. Rooms basic but clean and the bed was so comfy. Loved reading about the history and was relieved but secretly disapointed not to experience a ghostly sighting!! Lovely yummy breakfast in the morning and the menu overall sounded good. Highly recommend!!!
