After being stranded in Ashford, we finally found this hotel and felt very welcome by the nice staff and enjoyed our one evening there. Sam Rose was a gem and we where impressed by his omnipresence. The stranded Danish ladies The keys are in the post :)

Completely agree with a previous comment- toilet blocked off by a screen is not an en-suite. It's more like a prison cell! The whole place smells bad, loud music on until 1am, definitely wouldn't recommend staying here EVER.

Having booked a room at this hotel some five months previously, for Wednesday 6th August, it seems even with some of the negative comments on here, none of you had as bad a room as ours. Whilst appreciating that we didn't want to pay a great deal just for a night's accommodation before getting the ferry from Dover, when we booked... More

So we stayed here for one night. Our budget was limited and we were looking for somewhere basically to lay our heads for one night. We arrived at about 4pm on a Friday afternoon. They were helpful from the outset and gave us a parking space for the duration of our stay. This was much appreciated. The room itself was... More

I have exactly the same opinion as the last review, I did not think we would be hearing so much, it was like sleeping IN the pub (with drunk people yelling outside of our window), after a nice and quiet restaurant that was the last thing we wanted ... Service was nice, breakfast rather good

I hate chain hotels but I really wish I had opted for one and hence this is the worst review I have ever written. We stayed here twice, either side of a trip to France. The positives: Some staff deserve some praise- Karen was welcoming and helpful on arrival and the chef did a sterling job of cooking and serving... More

The staff are great, the breakfast was great and the beer was superb....but the room ugh! By poor fortune we had a room which was directly above a large smoking area just out back of the pub. It was also next to the place where the band hooked up for a Friday night rock session which went on until midnight.... More

Came here for roast dinner with two very fussy young boys. We was made welcome on arrival. I had the beef and so did the eldest. It was presented well and was outstanding. The youngest had the chicken, which I just had to try! No wonder he ate it all, as that too was delicious. Staff very pleasant and service... More

Rooms at the back suffer from loud noises from Park Street - Iceland Supermarket delivery truck arrived and unloaded at 3.30 am Monday 4th August followed by rubbish collection lorry which emptied the bottle bin (sounds of lots of breaking glass!) I arrived Sunday evening, disappointed to discover the George does not serve food on Sunday evenings. On Monday, having... More
