Stayed for 2 nights B and B, and also had dinner there for both nights. A pretty looking pub with good real Ale and a warm and friendly atmosphere. The room we stayed in was at the front of the pub, which is on the road, but a lovely view of the green and the traffic was not too bad.... more

Service was excellent, Hotel rambles through three buildings but being spread out is quiet. Rooms are cosy - our room was small but big enough for a couple of nights. Breakfast was ample with lots of choice. Restaurant was fully booked each night and had a good selection which was very good value more

We had a warm welcome when we arrived and were given good information as to when and where dinner and breakfast would be served. We enjoyed a very pleasant drink in the bar, before we went up to our room. The access to the room was difficult via narrow and winding stairs. Room number 8 was slightly disappointing as the ensuite... more

A friendly, efficient and charming property with excellent food and service. Standard rooms not large but extremely comfortable beds. A great location from which to explore Banbury and the surrounding area. Don't miss Banbury Museum. more

We have recently returned from a 3 night stay at the Red Lion Hotel in Adderbury, a small village just outside Banbury. On arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff who explained about breakfast; when and where and what! The first meal we had after a long drive was lunch which was a 'ploughmans' lunch. Although the menu stated... more

Stopped over on a Sunday nite special deal, well worth the money. In a lovely Village with good few pubs. We got there @ 2.30pm & check in was Welcoming, speedy and efficient with info about the restaurant and breakfast ect. Staircase to rooms was a bit tight but adds to the character as it is a Coaching inn! Might... more

Stopped 2 nights at The Red Lion as a 50th Birthday treat for my fiancé. The location is good and it is well worth exploring the village and having a look around the Church. Do be aware however that the hotel is set on a main road with a lot of through traffic. All the staff were very welcoming and... more

We visited this lovely pub/hotel for a family get together for my Uncle's 70th birthday. We had pre-booked private dining for 13 of us and a number of rooms. Check in was quick and easy and we were very quickly made to feel welcome. After heading up the narrow staircase to our room (well it is an old building and... more

Have stayed here twice now. Nice pub with accommodation in a village outside Banbury. Rooms are ok, but getting to them is not easy - up a steep narrow set of winding stairs! Our room this time was on two levels, with the bathroom upstairs..a sort of mezzanine arrangement. Not much privacy from the person you are sharing the room... more
