Jon Plymouth UK. Stayed in this hotel 240407. Good location and Hotel nice enough but for the money never worth it. Rood very hot including when the window was open. No sound proofing so lots of traffic noise especially first thing in the morning. Probably (and honestly) the worst breakfast I have ever had whilst away. Service very slow and... more

I stayed 3 nights in August. Room was good size, with separate living room, and teh public areas of the hotel were very pleasant. My problems with the hotel are as follows: - be warned: if you have a room at the front of the hotel it can get very noisy at night with drunken teens as the hotel is... more

convenient location and a nice building. however it is a bit dusty (not dirty but dusty) and the food and general service leave quite a lot to be desired. more

We took a driving tour of Gt. Britain in June 2005 but are just now getting around to responding. We stayed at Whateley Hall for one night while driving through the Cotswolds during an unexpected heat wave. Since the rooms are not air conditioned we were pleased to find that our small but comforable room had 'opening windows'. There was... more

No complaints. There is a nice garden replete with squirrels in the centre of the property. The older parts have some charm about them. Staff were friendly. There is a non smoking floor and smoking is not allowed in the restaurant - a nice departure from many an establishment in England. The Thai restaurant almost directly opposite the hotel was... more

My husband and I have stayed at the Whately Hall several times now, and have always found it to be a lovely hotel. The service has always been very good, and the food excellent. We have often received a room upgrade, at no extra cost. As a regular traveller, the comfiest bed I ever slept in was here! We have... more

We had arranged a dinnerand accomodation locally with friends and were welcomed into the hotel by James, what a character! Our room was of the standard of a 4 star hotel not the 3 it claims to be and the dinner that evening warranted some kind of commendation we will be returning. more

We stayed in this hotel for two days in July 2004. The service was excellent, especially in the dining room where we hosted a dinner for 18 people. The dinner was planned for outdoors but the weather forced the event inside. It was amost enjoyable stay. The only criticism we had was some slight confusion on the part of a... more

I was put in the hottest rooms it's been my displeasure to find for some time. The next morning reception said 'oh yes ... they're alway too hot'. No breakfast as the kitchen staff completely incompetent / disorganised. Everything else just had that air of totally unmerited above-itself-ness that too many UK hotels have. The clientelle seemed mostly, like me,... more
