Since a visit over a year ago I have to say that the transformation that has took place is out of this world, coupled with the views the castle is a mystical place. I was however a little disappointed on a recent visit firstly despite calling and reserving a table for a Saturday night it appeared that the reservation was... More

Just visited the castle Edgehill for the 1st time since all the renovations.Absolutely excellent, the place is amazing,we called in with our small dog this lunchtime to have a sandwich where we were able to sit in the bar/deli area, the service was great, very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble considering we were only having a light lunch.Wonderful fresh bread baked on... Service so slow we left after 2 and a half hours with our main course plates still sitting in front of us. The food was average at best. Foams and jellies are great but if you don't have the ability to do them well you end up looking a little stupid.

Thank you for your recent review. "Wow" - not really sure what to say to this, This is your first review on trip advisor I see?, There is no mention of when you ate, what you choose, and very little else for us to go on. I have checked all our notes from our de-brief meetings from after service, and... More

I've visited the Castle Inn at Edge Hill for a number of years now, to enjoy the distant views from the lookout, and to sit in the small lounge bar with its period features, open fireplace and English Civil War memorabilia. I've been here with friends and family members, and have brought overseas visitors here. We have all loved it... More

Thank you for recent feedback on our pub, and appreciate your honest and constructive comments. I think overall we have achieved a successful and careful refurbishment, whilst we appreciate that we will never achieve ultimate satisfaction to everybody. I'm pleased that you appreciate the work and effort that has gone into changing the Castle. It really is a fantastic site,... More

A large group of us recently visited the Castle for sunday lunch & drinks, and we were not disappointed. The interior has been completely transformed from what it once was, and is stunning. Our food was fresh, plentiful and genuinly tasty which is such a rarity in 'gastropubs' nowadays (generally too much frill, not enough substance) althohgh the addition of... More

Had lunch last Saturday. Just wanted a sandwich. Had to go to the "DELI COUNTER" to pick my sandwich filling, its not a pub anymore. Mum had a ploughmans as very limited menu. Two soft drinks and the bill came to £22. Wasnt impressed with the staff as kept hovering over us. Its such a shame, we wont be going... More

Dear Mandy, I am sorry that you did not enjoy your visit to The Castle. We are certainly still a pub - offering a varied menu throughout the day to try and accommodate all our diners. All our food is freshly prepared and cooked to order - the quality of the food is something you didn't comment on just the... More

Popped in for lunch. A lovely job has been made of transforming the building, and of course stunning views. Service was very slow and haphazard, we waited ages to even be acknowledged. Food is very disappointing and seriously over-priced. We ordered a fish sharing platter for two, the waiter told us that they were really only big enough for one... More

The lovely Nicky and I had heard some great reviews from friends so we decided to give it a try. I hadn't been there for at least 10 years; it was tired and dingy then. What a transformation! We were impressed also with the lunch 'takeaway' shop also. It all looked great. Staff were very friendly and well trained. The... More

I was really amazed at what has been done to convert what was a sad old interior into a very open and aesthetically pleasing environment. The bar is now on the right as you walk in with wooden floors and lovely Hooky beer on offer. There are now four options for dinning, the garden plus 3 areas internally, two dinning... More
