Booked the hotel based on reviews here and previous experience from the hotel chain. Great hotel, very helpful staff. Rooms were Very Clean!!! roomy, and facilities spot on. The only problem we had was that the postcode that was provided when booking wasnt correct and the sat nav took us to Southend. Everything else was great, the Harvester next door... more

I have been staying at this hotel regularly since it opened in 2001. There have been several changes of management and staff since then, but it is fair to say that the current team will try their hardest to ensure complete satisfaction. I stayed in room 204 on 4 December 2006. I really don't understand the previous comment. When I stayed there the window was double glazed. The room overlooks a major road - but this is contained within an underpass and the noise is minimal. The girl on reception was polite, well-informed and a joy to talk to. She made me... more

Rude check-in staff. Unbearable noise in the room. This hotel is right on the edge of a busy road. Room 204 has no double glazing, so it feels like you're trying to sleep in a bus shelter: freezing cold and sooooo noisy! Reuqested another room, but my request was refused, without good reason. very clean, quiet basic hotel, nice ensuite bathroom with excellent shower. quite modern, looks like it has recently been renovated. Very good value about £50 per night for two people.
