The hotel is located on a leisure park so is good for restraints, clubs and pubs, you need a car or taxi as there is very limited public transport, the hotel its self was good and very clean and the staff was pleasant and very helpful, the only downside is getting woken up at 6:30am by thumping music from the... Oh my God!! Myself and a friend stayed here at the end of July!! It was baking hot outside....but even worse inside. The minute we opened the door to the corridor the heat just hit us....We found our room and 'oh dear me'...it was so hot we couldn't breath! We had a window that opened about 5 inches...(no help there... More

Returning from the Netherlands with our family we were going to carry on camping at the scout camp in Romford. Unfortunately the traffic and the thundering rain meant we would be late to get our tent up and we would get very wet to do it. Not a problem however we all had little chills from Holland as went very... More

We spent 4 nights at this hotel last week and we couldn't fault the venue or the staff who went out of their way to help us with a fan, directions and recommendations. The only downside in the summer for anyone who isn't an early riser is the noise from the zumba class that starts at 7 most mornings but... More

We booked this travelodge in order to attend a freind's wedding near-by. Although we didn't expect luxury for the price we paid, we were not expecting to have to sleep in an oven! There is no air conditioning at this travelodge and the windows have a very narrow opening. We were travelling with an 11 week old baby and the... More

I stayed at this Travelodge hotel recently and although expected 'no frills' due to the low price you pay - expect some sort of comfort and Customer Service. Although rooms have been refurbished, the windows only open about 1 inch and there is no air conditioning, fans or air circulation in the rooms which means that when it is warm,... More

I arrived at 3am after a 14hr Working Shift on a construction site. No one responded to the Buzzer. I spent nearly 45 minutes calling the hotel by phone and pressing the buzzer. I could hear the phone ringing from inside the "fish bowl" where I was. I could only assume the staff were asleep in one of the rooms... More

Staff at reception very friendly, asked for a second room key and it was no trouble at all. Room was lovely, only downside was there was only one towel for two people. I went out for the night and my other half stayed in, he said it was bait noisy due to the location and needing the window open due... More

Stayed for a Basildon Festival. Well located. Clean rooms. Next to loads of restaurants. The price and check in good. Within walking distance of Basildon town, which is handy after a night in the town.
