We stayed in this outstanding hotel in September 2013 with my cousin Chris and his wife Bev... Have never stayed in such a clean hotel in all my life... Lorraine is the perfect hostess, we were greeted very warmly and shown to our rooms after a guided tour of the hotel.. I felt as if I had known Lorraine for... More

My wife and I had the honour of being the very last guests to leave this great B&B prior to it closing for refurbishment. Lorraine gave us an excellent briefing on various aspects of the locale and generally made us feel extremely welcome. We had the "small" room, which is due to be decommissioned during the refurbishment. It was lovely... More

This is truly a great place to stay, worthy of its 5 star rating. Only sorry it going to close for a major refurbishment. It will be a loss to the area, until it re opens next summer. I couldn't fault it in any way.

Very highly recommended. We stayed 2 nights with a friend whilst visiting other friends in Buxton. The bedrooms were very comfortable and we can't believe they are going to have a major refurb. The breakfasts are to die for, with plenty of choice. We were made to feel very welcome and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Thanks for taking the time to post a review and for the very generous comments. I thoroughly enjoyed having a chat with you all and can't help but wonder as to whether you will be talked round regarding NZ. If you do go, I shall pick your brains should you come this way again after our refurb. Thanks again -... More

An excellent place to stay, there really should be a six star rating, we couldn't fault anything, Lorraine was very accommodating to us. The room, bathroom and furnishing was superb. The breakfast lasted us all day on our long trip back to Cornwall. I cannot believe that you are going to be doing a refurbishment, it all looks so pristine... More

Can't believe your misfortune on the way home, particularly after the flat tyre on your motor :( Thanks for the kind comments - most genuinely appreciated. Mingo eagerly awaits her next tummy tickle :) Lorraine More

We have just returned from a wonderful mini break in the Buxton area. Encouraged by the many rave reviews for Barms Farm B and B we booked for 2 nights and were not disappointed! Location was great and the accomodation was both spotlessly clean and well equipped. Undoubtedly the star of the show is Lorraine who made us feel totally... More

Nothing negative to say about this B&B. It is 1st class from the first moment. It is spotlessly clean top to bottom. The setting is quiet (unless you happen to be a city person who is put off by the soft baa-ing of sheep in the distance). We arrived a bit later than we said we would - chalk it... More

WOW!! Thank you so much for your lovely comments. When you return, we will only be offering two double en-suite rooms - both of which are being totally refurbished early 2014 along with 90% of the farmhouse. Room 2 which you recently stayed in will remain along with Room 1 - both will continue to have bath and seperate shower... More

We had a lovely welcome to a warm and cozy house from Lorraine. The guest lounge had a log fire blazing away and we had a long chat about restaurants and places to visit. The bedroom was luxurious with quality furnishings, sheets and towels. The breakfasts were delicious each morning with a good variety of fruits, cereals and yoghurts before... More

Lovely room in a nice area alongside a golf course just outside Buxton. Lorraine runs things very efficiently and is full of information about the area, restaurants etc. The breakfast is excellent and the rooms are big and comfortable. Hope to return in the future.

Couldn't fault this immaculate B & B - very comfortable room, spotlessly clean and very good breakfasts. This is all very efficiently run by Lorraine who is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. An enjoyable stay in a lovely area which was all too short and we would certainly return again To be highly recommended.
