My husband selected Barms Farm for a special birthday treat and what a treat it was. Our room was perfect and all the little extras added a touch of real luxury. The guests' sitting room was warm and comfortable with a welcoming log fire - just what's needed in February. Lorraine provided lots of information about the area and was... More

We stopped at Barms Farm B&B in Buxton in December 2011. It is a beautiful house to stay in. The decoration is very modern, it is a huge house yet it manages to feel warm and cozy. There was a log fire burning the night we arrived (and was on each night we were there). The room was really well... More

The owner does all she can to make you feel welcome. The room was spotless and huge... in fact the bed was one of the biggest I've ever seen. Bathroom was amazing too with a big bath. Breakfast was so good!!!!!! If going to Buxton, definitely stay here. More

Everything about this b and b is top quality. Our hostess, Lorraine, was the model of the perfect hostess- she provided us with everything we could need for our 3 days there. As walkers, we appreciated the extensive library of maps, walks, information that she keeps. Breakfasts were top quality, as was the beautiful bedroom and bathroom. She was always... More

Stayed here with my husband for 3 nights on a walking holiday. Lorraine is a fabulous hostess going out of her way to welcome us and acquaint us with Buxton. She has her own "Tourist Information Bureau" in the guest lounge. We had a cheeky peek in all of the 3 rooms as they were empty on our first night... More

Our stay at Barms Farm was a treat for our Silver Wedding , the room was beautiful, the bed to die for! Breakfast was second to none. Lorraine was the perfect host , her knowledge of Derbyshire was very comprehensive, she gave us perfect directions to wherever we wanted to go. Highly recommended and hope to get back in spring.... I have stayed in the self-cating cottage at Barms Farm on two occasions. Its a modern build, but cosy, warm and luxurious. Lorraine could not have been more helpful. Although I was in Buxton for work, it always feels like a little holiday to be at Barms Farm. It is also incredibly good value. More

The last 3 reviews far more reflective of our experience during our 3 night (and first) stay at the Barms Farm. Have to admit to not normally taking time out to review stays at Guests Houses/Hotels etc but after my wife informed me of a review bordering on the insulting felt compelled to put fingers to keys! After enjoying all... More

We came here as a novice pair of walkers. Barms Farm is a smashing place to stay. The place is immaculate. Our room had a very comfy bed and a fantastic separate shower and bath, just what you need after a hard day's trekking. I thought the room was very quiet and we couldn't hear any traffic noise. The breakfast... More

We have been coming here now for over 10years , often twice a year. It just continues to get better. I am lost for words at the review by Macavity , Northants as it is so far from correct. The A6 is hardly a 3 lane motorway & the Farmhouse ( yes Farm ) is set back at least 200... More
