I could mention the good location , a walk away from the theatre and pavilion gardens. The free parking by way of a permit from the owners at no charge. The quiet position and laid back but welcoming attitude of the proprietors. The very good breakfast and hospitality tray. All in all a perfect place for the weekend or longer stay... More

Having just returned from a one night stay at Grosvenor House, I felt compelled to write my very first review for trip advisor. The guest house is exceptional. Our room, although small was perfectly comfortable and pleasantly decorated. We were particularly impressed with the small personal touches.....China cups and saucers and a teapot, also a hot water bottle. The breakfast... More

Stayed for only 1 night, had 2 rooms, both with a view of the park and opera house. Perfect location just a stones throw from the Opera house. Parking was easy ( paid for by the Grosvenor) The rooms were large and spotless, excellent facilities in the rooms and bathrooms, Very good Wi-Fi too. We arrived in terrible weather (... More

We booked Grosvenor House for an overnight stay primarily because of its close proximity to the Opera House, in view of elderly parents with limited mobility but within easy walking distance (athough there was an incline to be negotiated back up to the B&B). We had no prior knowledge of any of the hotels in Buxton but this was our... More

A two night stay whilst we were working in Buxton. Arriving in appalling weather we were given the warmest of welcomes and our parking and room quickly sorted. The house is warm and welcoming and has been restored to make the most of many original features. Lovely views across the Pavilion Gardens and only a couple minutes to the Opera... More

My Husband and I stayed at Grosvenor House for 3 nights whilst we explored the area. We stayed in Room No 2 which was spacious and beautifully decorated in a Victorian theme. We had a fantastic view over the Pavillion Gardens and the Opera House and shops were just nearby. A splendid breakfast was supplied with plenty of choices and... More

We booked a double room for one night as we were attending a concert at the Opera House. There is a choice of rooms and prices (from £70 according to your preferences). Our room was adequate for our requirements, with a choice of teas and coffees. Also a small fridge for storing the milk. Bathroom with shower cubicle, shampoo, soaps... More

A friend and I stayed at Grosvenor House for three nights while we toured the Peak district. I have nothing but praise for the accommodation, well appointed with good quality fittings and great attention to a guest's needs. Excellent welcome tray, a most generous breakfast, well cooked and varied, and very friendly owners. We had helpful advice about where to... More

This is a remarkable hotel run by Alison and Kevin who take care of even the smallest details. Grosvenor House is superbly situated overlooking the gardens and all the major attractions. Parking is paid for using a card from the hotel. We paid a little bit extra which allowed us to leave our car in a prime position for the... More
