Returned home today after weekend away with friends. We had a groupon voucher and was more than worth it . After reading the many negative reviews we found the hotel quite comfortable, clean and warm. The hosts were very welcoming. Bedroom and bathroom was ample size , again spotless . Food was excellent could not have faulted it . Only... More

This is a very friendly hotel; great owners/staff. - they couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was spacious, clean etc The whole hotel is fine and very convenient for walking to the park and town centre. Yes, some areas need updating but it's all acceptable. Good breakfast. Very dog friendly. Thanks for a pleasant stay!

A lovely place, well located in Buxton, around 3 minute walk to the centre. The staff are very friendly and will do anything they can to help. As I had to leave early, they arranged for me to have an early breakfast which was nice and appreciated. The only constructive points are that some small areas like silicone and grout... More

Evening dinner was nice enough, breakfast was good, staff friendly, lovely back patio (sun was shining and we had a nice time relaxing on the patio). Wifi hard to find and access, ended up asking for help with the password more than few times. Cups in the room were filthy, we ended up using our own travel mugs to drink... More

I can't address the issues as you have reviewed in January and I am assuming you stayed some time ago (sitting on the patio in the sun is the clue). So can not comment on the specifics as I have no clue as to what room you were staying in. Wifi is a struggle, we are constantly working to sort... More

We stayed 2 nights on a Groupon deal which was good value. The place is dated but that doesn't bother us as long as its clean which it was. The evening meal was nice nothing special but the house rosé wine was just awful I had to put water in it. The dining room really needs some attention even by... More

I am glad that overall your stay was enjoyable. Personal tastes and preferences are a funny old thing. One persons perfect rose is another's rank one and one persons hard mattress is another persons perfect nights sleep. More

First the positives; lovely welcoming staff on reception, comfortable bed. Goes downhill from here I'm afraid. My room was in need of some love and attention. Old - but not in a good way - mismatched furniture, window incapable of shutting, curtains falling off the rails, poor breakfast and shabby communal areas. Dinner was awful. The starter was far from... More

This deservedly positive review is long overdue; my apologies. Often it's the "Little" things which make the difference; here they impressed me in Spades!! Firstly, due to my young ladyfriend's series of eye operations, we did cause the Hotel some problems with constantly re-arranging our visit; all handled with amazing understanding. Finally enroute from Perth we were delayed yet they... More

A nice quiet hotel at the end of the park within walking distance of the town. Very tasty breakfast, parking, gardens and friendly staff. We stayed for 3 nights with our 2 dogs. Our ground floor spacious room opened onto the garden which was perfect for the dogs.

My partner and I had a groupon offer for 2 nights, Although we were surprised we needed to pay an additional £20 Saturday night charge. Not sure this was explained anywhere. Anyway rooms were a little dated and could do with a paint but it's an old building so not surprised. Stain on carpets etc. Bathroom was modern although shower... More

Thanks your for comments and I am glad that overall you enjoyed your stay and that the food excelled. The Saturday night supplement is mentioned in the "fine print" bit on the groupon deal when you purchase it is also on the groupon voucher that is emailed to you in the same section. We are aware that some of the... More
