Hotel has a lot of character- don't expect it to be like a big chain hotel, but rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Food was very good, and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back to this hotel again. Next time we could even take the dog!

Hi All, I stayed at Alison Park with my family (two adults and one child) between 26/11 and 29/11 availing Groupon offer. Room given to us was 209 and was very clean and quite spacious too. Staff at the Hotel was very helpful at all times and will definitely visit the hotel again. Thanks

We have just spent a very pleasant weekend at this hotel. Very warm welcome on a very wet night, we were able order sandwiches and chips which was very enjoyable. The room was basic but clean, what you would expect from a very good two star hotel, felt quite like being at an eighties theme hotel! Breakfast was lovely, just... More

Stayed on a 2 night groupon deal in November 2014, extremely friendly staff in a warm and welcoming hotel. Room was comfortable, we had a two course meal on the first night, food was excellent, cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The hotel is perfectly situated just a short walk from the centre and serves as an convenient location to... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in November 2014 on a Groupon deal. Received a friendly welcome at reception after a long and tiring journey. The room (G2) was comfortable, warm, and well lit, (the latter making a change from many modern day hotels!) and the bed was comfortable. The shower room was clean, and the shower was fine. We... Stayed on a Saturday night as a very short break. First impressions of the hotel are that the photographs in the brochure were taken a while ago, and they look quite nice, however, the hotel in comparison now, looks to have dated and parts are looking tired - mini refurb would go down well. I thought the days of an... More

Stayed for a short break at the end of October on a Wowcher deal. On the first night we had a lovely meal, but sadly when we enquired about one the second evening we were told that we should have booked it earlier (nothing in the hotel says you have to book your evening meal). Most disappointing. On returning to... More

Whilst this hotel is in an excellent location and the staff are friendly the room we stayed in had little to recommend it. The room we stayed in (109) was small with extremely dated, cheap furnishings and decor and had an unusual smell which persisted after leaving the window open for a day. The extractor fan spat out dust into... More

Stayed here twice, once for an overnight when we sorted out the trip and then in early October when we arranged for a group of 22 to stay at the hotel for 2 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast. Everybody was very happy with the hotel, the breakfast was good and the evening meal well prepared and tasty . The... More

Although some areas of the hotel are a little dated the hotel was clean and tidy. Our room was spacious, with a recently refurbished bathroom and a comfortable nights sleep. The food was very good and competively priced. The staff/owners were very welcoming and friendly. A good base for exploring Buxton and the Peak District.
