Good breakfast. Comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Well located in the middle of nowhere in wonderful countryside. Good views from garden. Good beer. Lots of parking close to the accommodation. Easy to Find.

Just got back from a fab meal at this pub. They appeared to close at 3 pm but stayed open until we left at 4 pm. Hosts are great. Just have a laugh and they join in and chill. Food was great and requests for slightly off menu was accepted without query. Live this place as we stay local with... More

We spent two nights at the Jug and Glass before travelling on yo the lakes. Its very well situated for exploring the Peak district. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was ideal for two of us and a dog - well proportioned with a small but modern bathroom. Evening mess were very good value, with lots of veggie... More

We had a drive around the Derbyshire dales today and happened across this pub/inn, we enjoyed an exceptional meal of roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding with fresh well cooked veg, very generous helping of superb beef and very friendly staff , what more could you want ?

Spotted pub in passing and popped in for Sunday lunch. Excellent value and lovely food - generous helping of meat and a good selection of fresh vegetables. Plus reasonably priced drinks. Will definitely go out of our way to call again.

Don't be put off by the exterior of this 17th Century Inn, Janette and Frank made us very welcome, it is obvious that this lovely couple are actively doing their utmost to update this Inn with beautiful large spotlessly clean bedrooms, wonderful hearty breakfast and evening meals with a good menu, and yes the bar is in need of a... The location of this Inn is wonderful. The views stunning and the road noise not a problem. The entrance for the accommodation part is round the back when the Inn is shut and but this seemed to lack thought and was more of a dumping ground. The room was clean, maintained and big enough for our two night stay. The... More

We called again having had a pleasant meal some months back but the ace seemed quite desolate despite it being a fine May Day. No sign of getting served so had to buz the odd doorbell ringer on the bar. Plenty of space so took a corner table but found ourselves shivering from an odd draught rattling through. Even odder... Lovely super-king sized ensuite room in the new (around 8 year old) accommodation block at the back of the inn. Although the inn is on a main road, noise was not an issue due to the positioning of the accommodation at the back.. Very pleasant bar - smaller than is apparent from the outside and disappointingly lacking in atmosphere during... More
