Stopped at the Inn whilst on route to a winter night hike and in need of a good meal, so pulled of the main Buxton Road to stop for tea. Greeted in the entrance hall with a wealth of certificates demonstrating excellent ratings and reviews (which was a good start), but then poor timing as the door to the male... More

Went there recently for a meal with friends. The dining room has been recently refurbished and looked very bright and clean. The choice for vegetarians is amazing. I counted 8 choices, some made with quorn. I had the vege chilli with rice and vegetables and it was delicious and obviously home cooked. The service was excellent and we didn't have... More

We drove past this Inn many times before stopping here a few weeks ago. Now we know how good it is we will be back often! The Jug and Glass is perfectly located as a base from which to explore the local countryside (Arbor Low is close by) or as a pit stop on longer travels. The staff make you... More

Stayed just one night bed and breakfast very good value, warm friendly welcome and comfortable, clean and cosy bedroom, delicious and very substantial breakfast. It appears Isolated and desolate on the road side which gives it a brooding romantic feel, the views of the surrounding countryside are beautiful and I would definitely return to explore the area fully. Only problem... More

Walking base for exploring the Peak District where there was good food and a comfortable room. Warm hosts delivering home cooked food and good beer in a cosy bar. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. Parking the only let down as surface unfinished making it a muddy trek to the room or bar.

Great location, perfect for a walking weekend. Nice, clean, quiet comfortable ensuite rooms. The best bit though is the hospitality of the couple running it. Could not have been more welcoming and friendly. Food served too.

Spent a nice, cosy three nights here. Very friendly, clean with a warm room and tasty evening meals. Good also for vegetarians. We felt very relaxed and it is in a good location for walking round the very pretty surrounding area. We would certainly go back.
