Rest for the Tired is a wonderful Bed & Breakfast situated in the heart of the little town of Hay-on-Wye. The rooms are all beautifully presented and the building is a wonderful old cottage with low ceilings and beams everywhere - a very typical, quirky, quaint English cottage. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hay on Wye

A very comfortable and well-maintained B&B. Spotlessly clean rooms - we had a very nice mini-suite. Agree with comments from previous reviewers that the age of the building means narrow and low staircases but perfectly manageable, even after 15 miles on the Offas Dyke Path. Very welcoming to walkers and we had a nice conversation with owner Mary and other... More

An enjoyable stay in a quirky and characterful building with an excellent breakfast served by characterful and welcoming hosts. The comfortable bedrooms are accessed via twisting stairs and low doorways. [So not suitable for those with mobility problems]. The location is ideal - both for the town and is on Offa's Dyke path - and it's over a bookshop so... More

I always enjoy visiting Hay on Wye and for me, RFTT is the place to stay. I have stopped there at least half a dozen times. Comfortable and very good value with ample parking around the back. RFTT is in a great location, directly above the owner's bookshop and very close to shops, pubs and restaurants. I hope to return... More

3 delightful nights - Perfect location & great hosts in the pretty town centre. Mary was extremely welcoming & very informative regarding the surrounding areas, places to visit, restaurants & book shops in the town. The national park was just a few miles away to see the wild ponies surrounded by beautiful scenery. Our room was very warm, clean, spacious... More

Had a very pleasant stay here a few weeks ago. Our room was quite large and comfortable with a good en-suite. Very pleasant hosts creating a sociable atmosphere and serving up a decent breakfast, what more do you want? Thoroughly recommended.

We stayed here while hiking the Offa’s Dyke Path. It’s right on the path and directly across the street from a very good pub & restaurant, the Three Tuns. With approximately 200 miles of hiking, keeping side excursions to a minimum is a must. The owners were very friendly and hospitable. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Wi-Fi, with... First time I’ve stayed in a house built in 1632. Very comfortable, great atmosphere and character. Perfect location right in town. Very friendly hosts. I greatly enjoyed the three days I spent at Rest for the Tired.

I stayed at Rest for the Tired while walking the Offa's Dyke Path with a friend last week. Conveniently located on the path itself and close to pubs and bookshops in Hay-on-Wye, it's an excellent place to stay. The owners are very friendly and hospitable, the rooms clean and comfortable and the breakfast was perfect before a hard day's walking... More

Expectation beating, family atmosphere infused, good value for money place in the prime location of Hay in Wye with the breakfast that will allow you to endure all those book hunts and treks across the Black Mountains.
