Lovely accommodation in this 17th century property above one of Hay's celebrated bookshops, very comfy and homely with lots of character. Mary and John made me very welcome and told me lots of stories about the history of Hay which were fascinating! I will definitely stay there again.

Quirky, hobbity staircases and rooms, really cosy, comfortable and clean as well as full of character and plenty of privacy. Host is warm and homely, breakfast good. As central as you like, a stone's throw from the river, with parking.

Stayed here for 3 nights as a base whilst running Offas Dyke. Mary was a fantastic host and the B and B was perfect for our needs. Really comfy beds and fab breakfast each morning! Great location in the centre of Hay and actually directly on the route as well.

Just come back from walking Offas Dyke and would recommend this B&B for anyone doing the same. Owners were really friendly and accommodation was clean, warm and tidy. Free wifi available and breakfast was very good. Definitely recommend.

My Dad and I finally got around to walking Offa's Dyke. He's not great with the internet but managed to find and book Rest For The Tired before we set off, I didn't know what to expect. But when we arrived the place was beautiful. Mary, who showed us in and around, was incredibly helpful and full of local information.... More

We stayed here for a night on our Offa's Dyke walking holiday. We were wearily entering Hay on Wye after a long days walking hoping that our digs for the night weren't far away and suddenly there they were and what's more welcoming than having the proprietor looking out for us ! Shown a lovely room and given advice on... More

I stayed here with my partner whilst walking the offas dyke. We were given and lovely room at the front of the building over looking the highstreet. Although priced similarly to other places in Hay this room was by far the biggest and the nicest we have stayed in. The highlight of the stay however was the breakfast: a huge... More

Affordable, comfortable and spotlessly clean B&B with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Substantial home-cooked breakfast. It's located right in the centre of Hay-on-Wye in easy walking distance of bookshops, cafes etc. and has its own car park round the back.
