This one is hard to review as the shabby opulence defies an overall rating. If you are a group and want a bed for the night, a jolly decent home cooked meal and a grand staircase, this is the place in an area not well served by such accommodation. You don't need to be too fussy about plumbing or meticulously... More

Fabulous setting and lovely old mansion but the place is in desperate need of a full refurbishment. Double room in rear was tiny and shabby and at £76 a night for two was massively over priced. Bed was hard, cobwebs, artex walls. Pool was nice but all very dated and needed tlc. Could have been amazing but disappointing. Such a... More

We visited Baskerville Hall Hotel as a last minute trip. The hotel was nice, welcome was friendly. Our room was up a million stairs, there were quite a few flies and bugs in the room dead and alive the worst one was dead under the pillow on the bed argh! The pool was nice and the restaurant was good at... More

Wow what a fabulous hotel!! Having read the negative reviews we were a little apprehensive about staying here but we very soon learnt that an open mind would make for a great stay at this 'timeless' hotel. We were greeted by the welcoming owner and given the keys to our 'very different' rooms. Some of the rooms were pretty basic... More

Baskerville Hall is an impressive Victorian mansion retaining many original features. As you enter, you are greeted by a grand staircase and it really feels as if you are walking into a stately home. However, this feeling stopped abruptly for us when we entered the bedroom . The room was clean and large, but the furnishings would have been more... More

Stayed here with a large walking group and have to say I wasn't overly impressed. The food was overpriced. The doorm rooms had no locks on them. Not impressed by this at all. The sauna didn't work at times. Shame tho as it is a nice building.

My parents (Mr & Mrs Evans Room 2. 31.01.15-01.02.15) stayed here after myself and my husband paid for them for a Christmas present. My parents love the hotel, they have stayed last year too...The staff are extremely professional and caring, even my dad's dog enjoys his stay.!! I had to re-arrange the first date as my Mum was poorly, I... More

This is the fourth year running we have booked Baskerville hall for a post Christmas break. We always find the staff very helpful and friendly. Food served in the bar is always tasty and the atmosphere is relaxed. We are always made to feel very welcome (despite there being 7 teenagers in our party). The hall is surrounded by fantastic... My partner and I stayed here for two nights the first weekend of December 2014. We were here to spectate and photograph an Enduro motorcycle meeting. Our room was enormous, with a comfortable double bed, two single beds plus a four seater settee and large television. I had a few reservations initially. The rooms are quite expensive and the finish... More

This is one of those "nicer on the outside" establishments. The entrance looked rather grand with its feature staircase and I realised later that this staircase lead to the so called luxury/executive suites. My friend & I who were part of a large walking group; had the unfortunate displeasure of staying in the hostel west wing dorm #37 with a... More
