We've just returned from a weekend away to Hay-on-Wye, our first brief visit to Wales. The Baskerville Hall was booked for an AGM meeting, and in the pictures on its website, it looked great. The staff were very friendly and the silver service dinner was tasty (even when I pointed out the dark hair sticking out from my pate, they... More

We stayed there for two nights last week. Long drive leading to the entrance. All very gothic! Were met by friendly staff and the reception area has a wonderful staircase. We were shown to our room (Room 1) which was massive with a four poster bed and circular bath, a walk in wet room and separate toilet and basin. Very... More

The owner and staff really make this hotel. It is a lovely building which has had TLC but could do with some more. The owner David is a charming man, very hands on and with a staff that obviously think the world of him and the hotel. This gives the place a wonderful laid back feel and we thoroughly enjoyed our... We recently stayed at Baskerville Hall and found it a lovely, charming place to relax in old world luxury. The room was huge and the bed was very comfortable. The dinners were excellent, and the bar was fun, especially when some of the locals showed up with guitars, flute, tambourine, and a home-made bass. The view from the hall was... More

On arrival we were beautifully greeted by Cilla with a big smile and we instantly felt very welcomed :) Our room was great , the four poster bed was really comfy and the added large round bath in the actual room itself was epic! Shower was also huge! The Hall it's self is beautiful and you don't feel like you... More

We recently visited the Baskerville Hall Hotel for breakfast before heading off on a stag do for the rest of the day. The breakfast was exceptional value for money. We were offered cereal, toast, tea, coffee and orange juice before helping ourselves to a superb English breakfast from the buffet style breakfast counter. All staff were helpful and the food... My boyfriend booked us into Baskerville Hall for valentines weekend! The setting is stunning, the building is just gorgeous and old! We stayed in room 1, which we could not fault! A lovely four poster bed and huge round bath tub in the room, are some great features ! I don't understand people moaning about this place, it's old and... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our initial decision was based on being able to take our well behaved dog with us. This friendly approach was reinforced by the large statue of a hound on the outside close to reception - a nice, light hearted reference to Arthur Conan Doyle's book which was based on the dogs who used to live... A lovely oldy-worldy Hotel with all the expectations of its age & history with wonderful staff and a fine meal (not forgetting the breakfast). Outstanding scenery, fabulous 'Blue' Bedroom and en-suite bathroom. Looking forward to our return in May.

I stayed at the Baskerville Hall Hotel for two nights before and after a riding holiday with Freerein and wasn't expecting luxury accommodation, so I wasn't disappointed by the shabby, dated rooms and luke warm showers... My large standard single room on the second floor actually contained 3 single beds and was reached by a convoluted route of steep, narrow... More
