Returning to this lovely old coaching hotel after several years, we really enjoyed our visit and were made very welcome by the young staff. Good size room overlooking the gardens. Dinner with a group of friends in the bistro was excellent, gravad lax to start followed by a steak to die for. This a great base if you are visiting... More

I was a party of four coming in for lunch and had booked well in advance and just before wanting to leave to go to the swan I was mortified to read how bad an expierence we could be in for. I was tempted to cancel but one of our friends who recommened the place said not to worry that... More

We were a party of eight for lunch, it took about 20 minutes to get the wrong drinks! The menus were obviously priceless as we could not get them for ages. The food was OK but the service was awful incompetent we asked for prosseco not available! Ice was not in drinks. three people ordered cod stew with chorizo, they... More

We had a two night stay for a bargain price and enjoyed it very much. The breakfast was very good, albeit the fruit was lacking. Although we didn't have dinner, reports of others staying there said the food was very good. Personally I thought the menu was limited and expensive and it would have been nice to have some simple... Breakfast very good, poached eggs were perfect. Staff friendly and helpful. Downstairs, the restaurant and common areas are well appointed. However, the room was very disappointing - water stains on the ceiling, stained carpet, towel rail pulled off wall with holes in the plaster and flaking ceiling paint in the bathroom. Avoid room 6.

We stayed here for 3 nights and ate in the bistro twice (on a DBB package). Yes, the hotel is a bit "tired" on the decorative side, but is comfortable, clean.and more than adequate. Breakfasts are hearty and set one up for the day ahead. The food in the evening is sublime. The staff are all quite young but are... More

My parents and myself stayed here for one night while heading to Aberystwyth for the weekend. The rooms were comfortable and clean and severed a great dinner, despite arriving more later than expected. Staff were lovely and polite and the hotel is very close the main shopping area. Great experience!

A reasonably priced solid 3 star experience located at the heart of the town 3 mins from the High street and Castle. Staff were friendly and helpful, accommodation was comfortable and warm. There is a Bistro on the premises and breakfast is served but you are not limited to eating in the Hotel. There is an excellent Indian restaurant within... More
