We visited here over the weekend with some friends, just stopped off for a drink here whilst shopping in Wye. The bar is rather small and cold, but comfortable if sitting by the log fire for warmth. The toilets in the bar area were being refurbished so we had to use a hotel room upstairs. It was very nice, with... More

The Kilverts Inn is old fashioned with a modern twist. The staff were very friendly, relaxed, busy, yet very accommodating all at the same time!! My room was pleasant, with lovely views, great shower. Plenty of tea, coffee and shortbread biscuits. Reasonable rates. I would stay here again. Breakfast was good too. If you want slick, chic and modern the... More

We read the reviews left in our 'holiday hideaway' and went for lunch here, it was good old simple & traditional pub grub, I had the steak and ale pie and my fella had slow cooked beef, both dishes were lovely and tasty - with wine and the meals it was a good price of around £30. Sat in front... More

On arriving in Hay-on-Wye we went for a walk and stopped here for a drink, outside. Our dog was with us and enjoyed the company of other dogs. That evening we all returned again, wasn't a very nice evening and it was so nice to sit in front of the fire, enjoy good company, service and drinks and our dog... More

On arrival the receptionist was working in the bar, so we waited a couple of minutes for her. She was polite but after check-in we were not shown to our room and so overall we didn't feel very welcome. The room was nice with old beams and an old wooden framed bed. The en-suite was decorated in a modern style... More

Was looking for a fairly quiet pub to have a few drinks after having a curry. Was pleasantly surprised by the choice of real ales and ciders available. They had a good selection of local ales and ciders: Wye Valley, Brecon Brewery and Dunkertons. Don't know what the food was like but the choice of ales was reasonable.

This is an Inn that is situated right in the centre of Hay-on-Wye. The bar area is a no frills but comfortable place with a good selection of real ales and a basic, limited choice menu. There is a car park on site, just drive up the one way street at the side of the Inn and take a left... More

On Friday evenings you will receive a warm welcome from Brian the friendly barman. There are usually about 4 real ales to choose from and Brian makes sure they are all on top form. If you're not sure which one to choose, you will be offered a small taster to make sure you get the one that suits you. There's... More

Arriving at Kilverts Inn we found the Reception as being a not very welcoming small, dingy, junk Room behind the Bar Area, although the Receptionist / Bar Attendant gave a warm and pleasant welcome. The Inn appearances continue to slide further down hill as we proceeded to our Room through a very shabby and unclean Bar Area. The Bedroom (Front,... More

Had lunch here but found the QUALITY of the fare was poor and it was also poor value for money. The gammon served was tough and virtually inedible! The bar and toilets are definitely in need of refurbishment. This is a shame as it is such a lovely building and has scope to be a venue full of character and... More
