Castle View has pleasant, old-fashioned accommodation above the bar / restaurant. The inclusive breakfast was fairly basic (cereal, fruit and toast) but OK for us so we didn’t try the cooked option which is extra. We enjoyed our stay and found the location very convenient, right opposite Chepstow castle and tourist information. The staff were all really friendly and we'd... More

Can't comment on the hotel as we only had Sunday lunch here. We popped in really at the last minute as the weather was cold outside and we had been taking the dog for a walk. The board outside stated families and dogs welcome so we decided to give it a try. We had a really warm welcome from the... More

Stayed here for one night as a couple, we had room 11 in the annexe area. The room was big with a modern bathroom. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. We didn't eat at the hotel apart from continental breakfast as the menu appeared a little too fussy for what we were seeking. Hotel overlooks the castle and is in... More

We stayed here for one night to visit the castle. It was a charming old place with lovely staff and just what we needed. We had a room that overlooked the castle - it was really big and very quiet. It was nice to be greeted a 10pm when we arrived by one of the owners who served us drinks... More

Castle View Hotel was the first stay for my sister and I as we started our Wye Valley Walk from Chepstow Castle just across the parking lot. Our twin room was clean and simple and it had one amazing feature: a mural of a garden dated back to the mid-1600's, protected by curtains (same age as the hotel). Original features... More

Stayed for 2 nights recently. The staff where very nice and welcoming. Even Lily the dog!! We stayed in the cottage suite which was very comfortable. The hotel is spotlessly clean. We had drinks in the bar on our first night and we were made very welcome. We can't comment on the restaurant meals as the chef was off sick... More

Only down fall is there is a dog there if you are allergic. Didn't bother me though. Rooms are very individual. Old charm. Service was great. Food presentation was awesome. Close to Chepstow Castle in a quaint village. Road are narrow compared to US roads so if you are driving there be prepared. There is a museum nearby that we... More

Just a night in Chepstow but enjoyable none the less. The hotel was great; traditional and clean. Located opposite the castle, so impressive views and car parking available close by. Really helpful owners who let us check in early. Enjoyable stay!

Hotel is a bit dated but is still value for money . The evening meal was lovely and the staff are really friendly . The breakfast is good and is cooked to the individuals preference . I would visit it again .
