After a long drive from Chipping Campden I realized I wouldn't get back that night and was lucky to get a room at the Castle View. Even though the lounge was packed with what looked like very happy customers, Michael gave me priority by greeting me at the door and escorted me to reception. By only taking my name, he... More

Met by Michael, very personable young manager. Took our luggage and showed us to our most beautiful room, (No.9), see photos. Michael then arranged for us fresh milk for our tea and coffee, nice touch. I won't say much more about room 9, (more like a suite than a room), photos say it all. Met Michael's fellow manager in the... More

We booked a double room here as a Christmas treat for my partner and I. We arrived about 4pm yesterday, after a relaxing day at a nearby spa. As soon as we walked in a man asked our name and offered to take us to our room, without any check-in? We climbed several flights of stairs and arrived outside room... More

Lovely old building with nice decor. Nice attentive staff and food was good. Very good value too. Only negative aspect was that there was no vegetarian option on Sunday lunch menu, which is unusual in what appears to be a well run establishment.

The Case View is well situated opposite the castle (no surprise there) and the centre of town is only a short walk of a couple of minutes. It's up hill but this is the bottom of the Wye Valley after all. My room was very good, spacious and clean with an ensuite shower rather than a bath and the staff... More

Have been working in Chepstow for the last 2 weeks & checked into the hotel. As other people have said the welcome is very good The first week we were out the back (fine) & nice & quiet. On the first night we fancied a cuppa so pulled out both cups on the shelf to find both containing serious blue... More

We needed a good value establishment for an overnight stay and the Castle View Hotel met our needs completely. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed although not luxurious and breakfast very good. The gentlemen running the hotel were friendly, helpful and attentive.

Great location opposite Chepstow Castle near to town centre. The hotel is nice, looks good from the outside and the small bar reception area is good. Friendly helpful staff. Decent breakfast, but rather tasteless. On the downside we were greeted by a dog on our arrival, some people might appreciate such a thing. Our room was shabby side of chic,... More

Two of us recently had Sunday lunch at the Castle View Hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful - the meal was OK - but nothing the "rave" about, nicely presented and hot. I think the meal was very expensive for what it was - certainly wouldn't agree with your website that its the "best Sunday lunch for value... More

We booked at very short (30 mins) notice as the hotel we should have been at was closed. Our experience couldn't have been better. Lovely location, friendly staff, nice room and an excellent breakfast. We may well return sometime
