Arrived for a nights stay that had been booked well in advance to be told that the restaurant was closed and in the course of being refurbished. At least they were helpful and we're happy to recommend alternative venues. Room in the separate building was a bit tired and carpet well stained, nevertheless it was clean and tidy. So that's... My boyfriend and I stayed here on the first night of our UK trip, and we wish we had planned to stay longer in Chepstow, specifically at the Castle View. We arrived early and the front desk staff expedited our room preparation so that our wait was minimized. He also made on-point restaurant recommendations. The room itself was old, with... More

Stayed here in the middle of July 2015. Booked directly on the hotel's website and the cost for a double room with breakfast was £100. We had the 'Cottage Suite' which was the only room available at the time of booking. The room itself was very large, split into three separate parts. The bed was exceptionally comfy, something both myself... More

I travelled to Chepstow last week to visit a friend. I chose the Castle View for my two night stay, as I was so impressed with the reviews on Trip Advisor, and with the efficiency of the online booking system. When I arrived, I was greeted by the host, Michael, who was so welcoming. I was shown to my room,... More

Needing Bed and Breakfast to see Madness at chepstow Racecourse, we found this little gem!! Easy to find, parking (£4) across the road, courteous and helpful local knowledge on check in. Don't come here expecting high tech ultra modern because it's full of character, beautiful pictures, artifacts, charm and history! We walked into our room and it was huge!!! Small,... More

On being shown our room, I was a bit disappointed with the décor. Room looked very tired, outdated and wasn't that clean, particularly around the window sills. As we were planning on an eventful weekend, I didn't complain about the room as we weren't going to be staying in it for long. We had a drink at the bar before... More

Super older building located across from the Castle. If you have a front room you can see the castle from your window. Nice quiet neighborhood. Super breakfast. Very friendly staff. 3 pubs located within 1 block plus the hotel's own bar. Very clean. Will be staying here again in October for the Rugby World Cup.

This is an old and interesting building with a homely cosy feel. It is literally opposite the castle itself and the carpark in the castle grounds. Chepstow town is 5 minutes walk away and in the opposite direction the river Wye even closer so an ideal position for exploring this quaint old market town. The Forest of Dean is 20... More

Stayed here this week as an alternative to Bristol which for some reason was fully booked. If there was no traffic it would only be about a 15 minute drive away. Arrived just after 10pm to find a note on the door for late arrivals to phone up. As it happens I walked in and the receptionist was still there.... More

Booked late so had family room instead of double which was out through the hotel in a separate building. The room itself was large and clean with a comfortable double bed (and separate single for family stay) but the bathroom definitely needed updating. On the plus side the staff were lovely and helpful - I had read on the website... More
