Was working in the area one evening and chanced upon this fine establishment. Great ales, a warm welcome from both the landlord and the regulars, and a great looking menu (which alas I arrived too late to sample) means a return visit is a must. The interior is sublime, creating an exquisite and relaxing atmosphere, and there's even a piano!... More

we called in at the coach & horses on our visit to chepstow the landlord was friendly& the beer was spot on. Dont understand the bad reveiw as evrything was just as we like an old worldly pub to be. WE called in again the next day to be warmly welcomed again . we will be calling in again when... More

I stayed two nights to come down for the Welsh National. Fine, clean room and a filling breakfast was all I needed as is indeed what I got. I had the wild boar burger on our first night, my colleague the steak. Both were very good. The pub was too busy with racegoers on our second night, the manager recommended... More

Was sat drinking with my mate and his grandad who is quite old, and when the old fella asked if the landlord wouldnt mind topping up his beer as it was poured poorly and was half head. He yelled at him and asked us all to leave. So we left my mate was fuming as his grandad was quite shaken.... More

Very disappointed with my stay here. The rooms were extremely dated and really need modernising. It was very expensive for what I got. The food was not of a good standard but it wasn't terrible. The staff were very rude and seemed to treat me like a nuisance rather than a paying customer. Had a good selection on real ale... More

Very disappointed with my time spent here. Rude and unhelpful staff. I felt extremely unwelcome even though I am from the area. I was asked to leave, by the landlord, simply for asking for a glass of water along with my alcoholic drink. This is a shame because the venue is in a lovely area and the pub has a rustic... More

We like going to places new to us which have a local horse racing meeting whilst we are there. We prefer pubs to hotels so booked for three nights in The Coach and Horses. What a choice! The best we've ever been to. A clean comfortable room, Very friendly landlord and staff, to whom nothing was a problem, 'ask and it... More

Love The Coach and Horses. Been going there for a few years now and it's one the friendliest pubs I've been to ever. You know how so many pubs are full of rowdy drunks or unfriendly locals? Not the Coach and Horses! It's everything you want in a pub tbh. Great real ales too and really good, very reasonably priced... More

The Coach has just been awarded the Town pub of the year for the third time running. And richly deserved too!! The choice of ales is smashing which is really down to the landlords expertise. A true pro. The food is great too. I stay at the Coach when I'm in Chepstow and I've put on the pounds. They do... More

If Hollywood was to film "the classic British Pub" they couldn't do better than the Coach & Horses. Always friendly, always a good range of well-kept beers and the food is generous and tasty, even with choices for veggies. If you're looking for a perfectly manicured chain with bright lights and decor that meets the corporate style handbook, then this... More
