I live within 5 minutes of this pub and so it would be my obvious local. However I go there because it's the best pub in Chepstow by a country mile. Even if it was at the bottom of the town down a steep hill for 20 minutes, I would still go there. There are always numerous real ales on... More

A great pub, very friendly staff and lovely cosy room. I was toasty warm even though it was below freezing outside the whole time I was there. Good beer in the bar downstairs with great bar staff, and solid full English breakfast to welcome you in the morning. The best spot for a few nights in Chepstow by a mile.

I had a disabled person with me and I didn't find the manager very helpful he was abrupt and rude as we asked him a couple of questions. The service was awful and the room we stayed in was cold and not very clean. Wouldn't stay there again!

We live in the area but had never been to the Coach and Horses before. Having seen an article in the Argus about the new owners we decided to give it a try for Sunday lunch. The pub itself is old and rustic with lots of character and charm. If you like to sit with your dog and chat with... More

Thank you for your review its always good to hear your feedback so we can improve the customer experience at The Coach & Horses. Without wanting to make excuses for last Sunday, with admission we were totally taken by surprise by the influx of diners between 12 and 1 pm. After a couple of very quiet weekends the sunshine and... More

We like to get away during the Christmas /NYE period. We found this place last minute and escaped everyday life for a swift one night stay at The Coach and Horses Inn. Firstly it is important to us that we are able to take our dog with us, so we rang ahead to be sure. The Land lord answered (Dave)... More

we booked into the coach and horses for a night recently, first impression as we walked through the door was homely, was greeted by the new landlord and his very friendly staff. The twin room we had was very adequate, the beds were very comfy.Good selection of well kept real ales, especially the Brains SA Gold. We also sampled the... More

Booked at the last moment - single room for just 25 pounds, amazing beers, really friendly welcome, great food, new landlord bending over backwards to help. A dream - a model that all pub landlords should follow. Full marks :)

Only 3 ales on when we went in for a midweek dinner, but both the Timmy Taylors and SA Gold were good. My fish and chips was generous and tasty, though fish was a tiny bit overcooked. My friend enjoyed his beef casserole. Judging by the conversation we overheard, the new landlord seems keen on pleasing his customers, which is... More
