The blackboard on the footpath said it was Pub of the Year 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. Who could resist going in and sipping on an ale after exploring the castle and trudging the Wye Valley Walk? It was a quaint traditional pub and we had a great time unwinding in the lovely atmosphere.

Called in for Sunday lunch which turned out to be a good choice! The bar itself is traditional and the beer and food excellent. We chose the lamb dinners and it was delicious. Full of flavour with a good helping of meat and a varied choice of vegetables and you could tell it had been "home cooked" and not mass... More

You might be lucky and get the odd decent pint in one or two of the other pubs in this town but the Coach and Horses serves consistently superb ales all the time; it's all down to the way the landlord keeps and serves his ales in this underrated establishment. I travel there as often as possible by bus to... More

When we saw the room, we were very disappointed. It was dark and dingy, with drab decor and a patterned carpet straight out of the 1970s. Having said this it was at least a reasonable size. Our bed was comfortable, but one of our friends staying in the twin room said his bed was quite uncomfortable and he could feel... More

We recently had lunch at the coach and horses and it was excellent. I had the lamb kofta salad and when I asked for chips I was offered normal or sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes I choose and I wasn't let down. The were yummy and so was my salad. It came with a mint sauce. The gentleman serving was really... More

We stayed here with a walking group for two nights and had a good time. Clean room with shower and flat screen television. A good varied menu for our evening meals and fantastic breakfast. All the staff were friendly, and the two little doggies were lovely. We would certainly stay again.

On the way to the races, you'd think the 'Coach and Horses' would be the perfect place for a pint, looked nice initially but dont bother getting a drink. The Landlord is quite easily the grumpiest host i have had the misfortune of having to deal with. There are some stairs on the left hand side as you walk in...do... More

PubManagement, Manager at Coach and Horses Inn, responded to this review

After being repeatedly asked to not go upstairs to the landlords private living quarters, the manager (from behind the bar) insisted quite firmly that the young man in question should stop it. The young man in question then started to abuse the manager. His colleagues took him outside, while the ones remaining inside apologised. More

Was working in the area one evening and chanced upon this fine establishment. Great ales, a warm welcome from both the landlord and the regulars, and a great looking menu (which alas I arrived too late to sample) means a return visit is a must. The interior is sublime, creating an exquisite and relaxing atmosphere, and there's even a piano!... More
