We stayed at the First Hurdle as part of our Offa's Dyke Path walk. The location is very good, both for the path as for visiting Chepstow itself. The room we had wasn't very spacious, but we had a good sleep.

We spent 2 nights here. Rooms are small and furniture etc is pretty dated but it was clean and perfectly adequate for us - we booked a guest house so were not expecting hotel chain qualities. There is a tv, tea and coffee making facilities and a cooked breakfast. Hairdryer and iron available from reception. We had some small shampoo/conditioner... More

Unexpectedly found myself in Chepstow in July and in need of a room. Booked in at the First Hurdle, which I found to be a welcoming, friendly environment, in a great location. Although I slept like a baby in a very clean and comfortable room (which was also quite quiet as well), I was a bit disappointed, as I had... More

I had a very pleasant stay at the First Hurdles B&B: - personal and very friendly host Jane - good English breakfast - simple, comfortable and clean rooms - worthy service for the price Just like a B&B should be!

We were staying in Chepstow to attend a friend's wedding, so we requested an early check-in. Having been told that we could do so "before 12" we duly arrived at 11:30 (we had a lunch reservation at 12 to make sure we weren't late for the ceremony at 2). What we found was a hotel like the Mary Celeste, and... More

We were reluctant to visit this b&b due to the reviews on here but gave it the benefit of the doubt. The photo below is from Room 3- cramped, shabby and definitely not worth the £70 price tag. No shampoo or conditioner provided - landlady then attempted to supply a shampoo sachet from a magazine. All furniture out of the... More
